I am new to the Academy this week. But I have been listening to Ivan On Tech live since around June/July. I am 55 and have two “kids” 19 yrs and 10 yrs old… My background is in genetics/cell biology and ethics. And I work in supercomputing (parallel processing) since around 1991. And I did grid computing which is similar-ish also. I am a big opensource and linux advocate. And now more bitcoin, ethereum, polkadot and a lot of others. I am all about working together, sharing information and open communication. (Kind disagreement is often how we learn).

I was in Bitcoin around 2012 just a $150 worth (1/4 bitcoin) to ‘support the cause’ [since it is all I felt comfortable losing]. I was in again around 2016 again… and life happened. So I just got back in June 2020… And it has been a wild ride learning about alt-coins, ethereum.

Hey everyone,

My name is Sam and I’m a budding blockchain enthusiast. This technology is going to change the world, and I’m especially curious to see how this changes rural America. We’re on the cusp of universal Internet (starlink). Mix that with a demand to rebuild the internet in new decentralized apps, and we could see some incredible things!

Looking forward to learning with you all, thanks again Ivan for putting together this community.

'Sup Ivan My name is Simon (my friends, of whom there are not many, call me lucky, not because they are nice people who like to give cuddly nicknames, but because they are sadistic monsters who revel in my constant and long term romance with bad luck). I am a 52 year old ex construction contractor, retired due to health problems ( bad feet, bad knees, bad hips, bad back, bad shoulders, dodgy ticker and poor eyesight), and have been interested in BTC since the early days really, to be honest, I wouldn’t like to admit how many BTC i lost fumbling around with wallets back then. I shout at my 7 children a lot because they don’t own any crypto and can’t fix their own phones and laptops, which just drives me mental. I am lucky i suppose, in that i never really let technology get away from me to much. I owned a Commodore 64 when they were first released, and learnt to code a bit, so i think that has helped stop me from becoming a total boomer. For fun, I like to fish, and mine crypto. I run a few rigs, ASIC and GPU, and have a long haired chihuahua called Louie. Louie is nowhere near as annoying as my children. Looking forward to getting my teeth stuck into the course. All the best, Lucky

Hello crypto fans,

I’ve been watching Ivan on Tech for a few months now. Ivan on Tech is a value producing machine; I learn something from the show every day. But mostly I envy Ivan’s atomic clock. I want one of those.

I’m here primarily to deepen my understanding of how blockchain and decentralization works. I think understanding hands-on how the technology works will make me a better investor. But I also think this knowledge will open doors to other opportunities. I just don’t know what those are yet.

Playing with Defi over the last few months has opened my eyes. I am truly inspired by the vision of the mass adoption of decentralized everything and want to be part of creating that world.

See you in the chats and rock on!

Hello Ivan!

I have gone thru 3 of your courses and have been learning a lot. Thank you for putting this together. A month or so ago I invested in Bitcoin and XRP via coinbase and have been learning every since.

My wife and I own a medical aesthetic practice in Fort Lauderdale Florida. We also do some real estate investing, mostly in short term rentals. I have been in IT prior to that with Xerox, EDS and Gartner prior to that so I do have a love of technology and investing so Crypto investing is right up my lane.

I have 3 older children and my wife Erin and I enjoy traveling when we can and keeping in great shape.

Hello to everybody here,

I am at least a quarter-century old lad from Ontario, Canada. I happen to live in a kinda tech-valley city where there’s a huge Google building, EA games office, etc… Blackberry was also invented from here.

Before discovering IvanOnTech, I was taking a Javascript and PHP courses, but these “ACCREDITED” courses that cost me $1000 for a six months prolonged very basic beginners. I learned nothing but the basics: register form and Log-In in PHP. I noticed you offer Javascript, but no PHP, is Node.js the superior alternative to PHP? I am a very beginner and have almost to 0 skills in web development.

I want to learn to build a website that allows users to deposit money in a wallet so they can commission freelancers (e.g. an art from a digital artists, a photo from a photographer, a video from a videomaker), allow auctions for bidding in which only users with money in their wallet can bid on.

I am very new to blockchain technology, and I remember in your webinar, you mentioned that the inbetweeners (blockchain) is the most important part of programming. I would like to know more. Metaphorically speaking, I feel like a 19th century lad just discovering the potential transformation of everyday life caused by the early stages of the Railway construction. I think it is inevitable that in less than two decades cyptoeconomy may go mainstream and therefore the competition will be harsher. In short, I don’t want to miss this train ride.

Last but not least, I’m a shy person when it comes to personal life, but I am open to all conversations. Other than that, I am delighted to be here and excited to learn. For now I will take the 6 entry level courses and then upgrade later to professional level.

Thank you, Ivan, for the opportunity to teach us all you know about Blockchain technology, crypto-market, and web-building.
