Activity Lesson 2

Well, have a disciplined diet and cut majority of the sugars and less carbohydrates. It might not be as yummy short term, but after, say 3 weeks and you have a nice piece of chocolate or dessert, you ended up accomplishing a few things:

  1. You saved money - if you think sugar is luxury food;
  2. You probably improved your body auto-balancing ability by regulating your blood sugar levels a bit;
  3. You might have lost weight, even if you did not constantly do exercises;
  4. You might have created a new habit and disciplined your food-ambitious brain;
  5. You might have improved your digestive system and enjoy long term health benefits;
  6. You might have forever forget the sugary or unhealthy foods and permanently earn an ā€œupgradeā€ to your body!

I rather not dig into relationships because this post might become too 18+ā€¦

People wear NIKE shirts with the slogan ā€œJust Do Itā€ on it in size XXL. ItĀ“s a contardiction. Wearing the shirt is making them feel sporty but they are actually not. Our entire society and marketing is full of these contradictions that just want to make people feel good but are 100% fake. It is the cow on a meadow on the milk package, with the milk being a industrial product and no cow saw ever any meadow.

The worst thing you could do is to cheat to yourself. How many people have these new stylish letters on the wall above their bed ā€œCarpe diemā€. As soon you put them there you think you have a good work life balance while actually running into burn-out syndrome.

Now, with me being aware of all this, doesnĀ“t mean I have mastered all this. It is a day to day strungle to move to less instant gratification and more long term gratification concerning healthy lifestyle, food and exerscising. I have run a marathon, I have done a half-Ironman, but the struggle never ends and with two kids and a demanding job I eat like double the comfort food than my friends, also because I am still leaner then them.

Have a more strict schedule every day to create habits

I am very happy with my habits already but I should start working out at least a couple of minutes every day.

i am actually perfect

I could get up 1 hour earlier every morning, which would give me more time to finish things I need to do and I would end up having "more time"in a day

First thing is this issue when receiving a paycheck. When I get it instantly I spend moreā€¦ not crazy spendingā€¦ but definitely more in first days than in the last half of the month. If I would spend less in first days, this could translate in less spending overall. At the endā€¦ less spending =more money for investing :slight_smile:

I could eat less chocolate :stuck_out_tongue: I do exercise a reasonable amount so itā€™s not visible, but Iā€™m expecting it to start showing through in a few years as my metabolism slows :laughing:

For me, a change I can definitely make is going to bed earlier. I need to shift from ā€œjust one more thingā€ to ā€œLet go. Youā€™ll get more done overall if you go to bed earlier.ā€

I will reduce to spend the time of checking all the SNS like instagram, facebook, and twitter and increase more time for education.

Reduce general spending to save more money in good stores of value like Bitcoin!

Getting up 30 minutes earlier in the morning to meditate before work, instead of pressing the snooze button. Reset the mind for the day

I have done the same too, works a treat :wink:

Iā€™m on the road a lot for work and eat out way too much. My goal is to eat out 2x/week or less.

I need to start investing more on my apartment loan account and start losing my bad spending habits. Who needs 12 ā‚¬ lunch when you can make your own food for 12 ā‚¬ a week?

Propose a change you could make to one of your habits, that would reduce your time preference from high (instant gratification) to low (delayed gratification) time preference. It could relate to any aspect of your life (financial, diet, exercise, relationships or education).

I have made several changes to reduce my time preference. I started this academy and study every day for example! Started learning how to rollerskate almost 2 months ago, practice everyday and ā€˜presentā€™ me is very happy with that ā€˜pastā€™ me decision. I try to always think about if I really need something before I buy it, just by thinking about it helps me to not accumulate too much unnecessary stuff. I probably could win some more if Iā€™d take a stricter look on my monthly expenses.

Hodling on to your exotic coins with your dear life!

I tend to jump on the computer before exercising in the morning. However, I should maintain a proper daily exercise regime that can be rewarded with working on the computer. When working on the computer, Iā€™ll even limit the type of activity Iā€™am doing- research, studying, crypto trading, etc. I feel the delay gratification process is the best way to preserve wealth if you can keep from spending the gains!

I am working on waking up 30-60 minutes earlier so I can get a workout in and meditate. I would do it at night but being a truck driver I am beat at the end of the day.

I have a tendency to play video games or go skate before actively studying or sorting out daily responsibilities, ie sorting bills or going to the gym. This in turn makes me lazy and more likely to make excuses for myself. During this quarantine time i have built myself a daily rota that puts all important tasks in the morning and in the evening I have earned the right to play video games or go skate. The result is that i feel a lot better about how my time is spent and i have made a lot of progress in other aspects of my life.
