I’d like to spend less on ordering out (on Seamless, Doordash), and cook more at home. I’ve already started doing this and it’s amazing how much money I’ve spent on ordering (those delivery fees, tips and taxes really add up!) when I could’ve spent a fraction of that on groceries for a home cooked meal.
I was not an early riser, at all. I woke up at 8-8.30 each morning, because I stayed up until 1AM doom scrolling my phone… But for this Moralis courses, I know that if I keep doing that, I would never had time to study with no distractions. Though it is extremely hard to not hit the snooze button on my alarm, I forced myself to start waking up at 6AM each day, and start studying Moralis at 6.30AM –– and stop looking at unnecessary stuff on my phone before sleeping. This way, I have 2 hours of studying time––no distractions––before my work day starts. I am glad I decided to spend less time on the phone, so I can sleep earlier, wake up earlier, and gain more knowledge for my education, thus future.
Planning and Time management, going to bed earlier for me would help with my productivity for the following day. This would enable me to have better lifts at the gym, allow for me to have more time after the gym to cook and meal prep if needed. This would all translate for better performance compared to my current state. I stay up late, dread waking up for work, drag during work, take a nap after work, go to the gym late or skip which is even worse, come home late, eat poorly or skip a meal, and then if I napped, I’ll be up late again and the cycle continues.
A change I could make is to cut out more TV or time on social media to put it towards my study in the academy which will provide me with the necessary skills for the digital world of tomorrow and go full-time crypto in the future.
I can certainly relate to this… However, not all people perform best at the same times, some people are early people and others afternoon people and others yet owls or night people or yet some are combinations of these. You have to know which circadian rhythm works for you.
Be more disciplined with my time to go to bed. I Like learn at the evening, and most of time it’s hard to plan a break between learning et sleeping to calm down my mind.
For exercise, an advice : I do that when I wake up and before the breakfast. I think this is he best time before the stress of the day and before taking energy from food.
I would stop eating out so much and taking a lunch to work. Cooking more at home.
I currently work 10-12 hours a day for my job. Because of the amount of time I spend at work, I have a High preference for playing video games to relax after work. If I were to reduce the number of hours I work every day this would lower my preference for playing games once I get off.
Propose a change you could make to one of your habits, that would reduce your time preference from high (instant gratification) to low (delayed gratification) time preference. It could relate to any aspect of your life (financial, diet, exercise, relationships or education)
I could sleep much earlier and put away my phone before bed time, like this I could wake up earlier with more energy, become a morning person and seize the day.
I would spend less money on cravings and sweet tooth stuff and have more real life energy.
I definitely need to sleep more. I don’t take pills to sleep although i felt like i don’t recharge my bateries to the next day constantly and this affects me in other ways… i am always tired and things like that. I also think that i must avoid futile expenses in order to invest some regular money.
Spending time on these courses and not getting broke while doing so will highly likely get rewarded in the longer run
Getting up 60 minutes earlier everyday and use that time for the personal well being! Try to utilized my precious time in healthy activities such as future growth in the form of learning something new and do exercise.
Better planning the time allocation for activities like online education, reading and entertainment. Also more efficient subscriptions to services (less concurrence) for effective time allocation. Time is the most important resource and needs to be spend wisely.
I can focus more of my time on doing creative writings and sketches rather than just browsing the internet pondering all the ideas I have in my head for those two hobbies. Would give me not only practice for it but would also help for a future portfolio.
Right now i’ve done all the changes i need. I wish i wasn’t working so i could invest more time in learning and coding:) I’d also like to build a nice relationship with a girl, so we could grow together!
There are two habits that I want to change so I can reduce my time preference from high to low. The first is not trying to rush my education, and being more committed to accepting challenge and putting in time towards. I think by enrolling myself in this academy I am putting myself on the right track towards achieving this goal. The second habit is not rewarding myself for exercising whether that be with food, nicotine, or giving myself time to be lazy. This further continues those other bad habits and takes away from any gains that I have made by working out. To do this I just need to have more self-restraint.
In order to reduce my weight, I started to eat only a protein powder in the morning instead of breakfast. So far, this has not only reduced my weight but also reduced my breakfast expenditure to 1/3.
Drinking less soda’s to lose some weight
A change in my daily eating habits would definitely reduce my time preference from higher to lower. When I’m on a good weekly track of going to the grocery store and preparing home cooked meals, I’ve noticed that my willingness to save money during that week is much better than when I’m constantly eating out/on the go. When it comes to investing and financial well-being overall, my time preference is pretty low and I’m able to see the macro picture of the decisions I make now coming to fruition over years’ time. The weeks where my eating habits aren’t as good, I tend to be outside of the house more and don’t put time aside for myself to fulfill the basic necessity of eating in an organized way; I take the easy way out and find the most instantly gratifying choice (this also creates a cycle for the rest of that week and sometimes the consecutive weeks after). By changing my time preference and planning out meals whilst getting more things to cook with at the grocery store, I would be able to avoid going the quickest, easiest, yet most unhealthiest route of eating on the go and spread meals out over time, making the most out of each grocery store trip. In addition, this would also help me financially since eating out can definitely be more expensive over time.
After I get all of these surgeries done this year to repair myself from years of hard work and not taking care of myself, I plan on putting a lot more effort into physical care so my future self isn’t a cripple.
