Activity Lesson 2

on the high time preference, reduce energy drinks which can both both high and low. considering caffeine is instance gratification and by reducing it increases my savings for my future self. instead of buying that caffiene i could put away that for savings most likely into crypto.

I am making a point to reallocate some idle time usually spent watching various YouTube vids towards studying crypto, including this academy, so that I can maximize my earning potential in the future.

I would prefer to improve my networking skills. Meeting like-minded individuals that I can synergize my own talents and abilities is all I need to reach the goals that I have set.

Start drinking more water instead of beer. Good for the long run!

I’d like to change my morning routine from facebooking - almost an hour :grimacing: while drinking coffee to doing something more productive, like journaling or meditating. These 2 things I easily forget to do, or better, avoid doing.

I tend to procrastinate by being on social media. I don’t even find it very rewarding or fun. It’s just a distraction. I should cut down my social media time and do something productive instead, like studying or exercising.

I would propose to change my diet and exercise habits. Presently, I am not disciplined with my diet and eat foods that increase my body fat level and weight. I also am not regular with exercise.

Changing my diet to eating foods that are less attractive but more healthier is a way to move away from high to low time preference.

I really need to stop ordering on UberEats.

Mouth pleasure from sugar.

I already know the value of the adage; ā€œThe harder you work, the more you enjoy (X)ā€

So cutting down my intake sugar from a croissant or doughnut or beer (rewarded after a solid block of study mind you) to instead allow myself the increased pleasure of restricting myself to a once-a-week cheat day.

Added bonus; cutting down the intake reduces the gratification threshold, so less is required for satiety in the end.

Do 30 minutes of reading before bed, this will reduce screen time making it easier to transition to sleep.

I would reduce my trading activity so that I am holding my crypto for the long term. This would reduce my time preference by doing so. Recently I started staking as a way to do this.

I will get up 30 minutes earlier than I normally do. Instead of getting the habitual gratification of getting that extra 30 minutes of bedtime and actually almost always just idling it away on my gadget I’ll simply forgo the dopamine rush from the gadget fix and benefit in the long-term from the discipline of going against my unproductive habit of staying in bed longer than I have to.

The change I can possibly have is to put more effort into what I’m exactly doing and balance it with my hobbies. Spending wisely with money and time as well.

I have to spend less time at the computer, more time in outdoor activities; allocate 50% of my diet to liquids and fresh vegetables i.e. green smoothies, juices, salads; cook from scratch seasonal foods and cut off meat consumption i.e. adopt a vegetarian diet.

Well, I used to waste my mornings relaxing myself at home, now I started this course and trying to maximize my free time in order to achieve more skills, and hopefully make money with it

A month ago, I decided to trade in sleep for sports. Now, every morning, I follow the schedule that I made for it.

I could spend more time on learning and practicing programming languages which would result in broader knowledge of how things work on Internet (websites, applications, computer software) as well as help me to get a job for which you are paid more, is more flexible and gives me ability to work remotely all the time from any point in the world.

Im on a diet and exercising by walking for 30 minutes every day, to lose weight. Its always so difficult getting out to go for a walk so I overcome that difficulty by looking forward to a piece of pie which I have on returning from my walk. However, if Im not able to go for a walk, I am always tempted to still have that pie. Last night I couldn’t go for a walk but fell for the temptation and still had a pie, by convincing myself that I have been good for some time and that just a pie when I haven’t walked was okay.
The change im proposing is strictly no walk, no pie! and to stick to this by changing my mental attitude that a pie without a walk is not acceptable under any circumstance whatsoever.
