I’m a student from the Philippines who recently started investing in the Stock Market and Crypto. I would like to change the way I see these investment opportunities and view them as a “Patience-game”. Often, people, including myself, will start investing thinking that it is a “Get-Rich-Quick” scheme and would fall into the trap of buying high and selling low. To avoid this, I will try to have more patience in the small amount of Investment I have. Also, having only a small capital Invested (e.g. $500) a 100% yearly return would be relatively small compared to a $1,000,000 investment with 10% annual return, in terms of $-value. So another change in habit that I could do is to get myself to work more, and find more jobs to have an Income Source to Increase positions in my Investments.
I could travel more in public transportations instead in my car, that could allow me spend less money every month and invest more money for future gains, to spend on my retirement for instance.
Less procrastination and more learning instead. A much more productive return of investment.
For me a change could perhaps come in the form of education/ aquirement of knowledge. When I discover something new I have a tendency to want to not necessarily rush thru it but go thru it to get major points of the knowledge or training fast so I can get started. I have had to force myself to slow down and so to speak chew the information I am taking in. Allow my brain to breakdown and digest a subject and fully absorb before moving to the next topic. I have had to do that with this course.
To handle paper work in time when it comes to me. Not to let it pile up and then actually spend more time to hendle it. It would save a time, my nerves and I will be able to focus on other things.
Spend less time on youtube videos and complete the course faster.
I could (and just began to) lift dumbells while I watch these lessons.
This will help me be bigger, stronger and faster.
I can set my alarm and leave my phone close to my bathroom. So when I wake up in the morning I have to get up and turn it off. By doing this, it’s impossible for me to get back to sleep and can use this time to read, meditate and go to the gym.
I do love breathing exercises in the morning, sometimes even heavy breathing. It is the best thing that I accomplished to add to my morning routine. The effect on the body and mind is so good, I would not want to miss it anymore. 5 minutes are enough, 10 are even better and 15 minutes kick in so well that I can keep going about my day full-power till 10pm
One such item would be spending time daily to improve the skills of meditating which will have future gains and improvements well beyond the short amount. The improvements made daily compound over time with this.
Eating fewer calories after the workout.
Never reward yourself with something that contradicts the results you are striving to achieve. It’s counterintuitive. It’s like an alcoholic rewarding himself with a drink after not drinking all week… Instead have the reward for dieting be the loss of weight.
Propose a change you could make to one of your habits, that would reduce your time preference from high (instant gratification) to low (delayed gratification) time preference. It could relate to any aspect of your life (financial, diet, exercise, relationships or education).
dedicating a specific period of time to meditate it would not show benefit directly after one time but the more you meditate the more you can focus and really reflect on yourself life and maybe even have some spiritual gratification from this as well. Overall practicing mindfulness and meditation is a good practice and doing more of this would change my life for the better and it is a delayed gratification type of reward
Postponing the purchase of a new car, or entertainment services like streaming channels to either save, or put the money towards something that has the likelihood of appreciating.
Most recently my family and I have been purchasing goods from Amazon. When we would think of something we would just jump on the APP and purchase. As you can imagine we were spending way to much money. We decided to have less instant gratification and only purchase ones a week the items in our cart. We found that by the end of the week we no longer needed/wanted half the cart items and saved $.
I should definitely stop smoking cigarettes’ while studying and focus on studying more!
I will not do anything with any girls until I make a million dollars.
I need to incorporate at least 30 minutes of reading into my daily routine. Ultimately, my goal behind this is to complete 1 book every month in order to better myself.
I feel like i really have to control my need for spending money once i earn it. to save more and not to run after things that have no real matters, or that are not importent.
Was never the big saver, but now I discovered the crypto, I am spending lot less every day for mostly useless stuff in order to be able to buy more BTC, which I am planning to hold for at least 10 years.
