I need to spend less time playing games and being distracted at work so I can ultimately be more productive in a day and while I am over productive as it stands at work I can more easily justify rightfully my need to take time off and leave early or on time.
Less binge watching youtube to ādrown outā my fears by other peopleās voices.
I got around to trying to save and trying to invest (mainly in crypto). But once Iām in crypto, I get reckless. I have an idea of - for example - an arbitrage opportunity and commit a relatively large portion of my money to try and exploit it. At best it turn out to be mildly profitable. Some of the time - with the hashguard burn address not working for example - I lost several hundred dollars.
I need to be more careful when testing out opportunities I perceive.
I should spend a little bit less time thinking and preparing what I want to do and more time in actually doing what I want to do.
Iām trying to do my yoga every morning when I wake up it takes at least 30 minutes to 1 hour, but sometimes I skip a day because I donāt have time, what Iām gonna do instead is a mini version of 5 to 10 minutes so Iām gonna be able to do it every day no excuse.
Propose a change you could make to one of your habits, that would reduce your time preference from high (instant gratification) to low (delayed gratification) time preference. It could relate to any aspect of your life (financial, diet, exercise, relationships or education).
Daily exercise and Movement. Exert the body everyday so that it causes pain momentarily but a healthy more flexible body in the future
Just doing simple stretching or set of exercises as a morning routine to lose some belly fat
This is a braincracker Iām already quit intense with goal settings. i exercise, write, and read everyday. I also donāt drink because then i will just waste my time with a hangover the next day. Because if i drink i do it good
I also doānt really believe in instant gratification I believe in working your but of to achieve something. My girlfriend complains that I do to much crypto so maybe I have to give her more attention haha but at the other hand if i give her more antention it would be instant gratification for her so thats not good for her is to better let her wait then
I think my biggest problem is that I want to do to much at the same time and to fast and that I need to slow myself down sometimes to focus first on 1 then the other.
More exercise and smoke less
I will not spend more than £500 on alts every month no matter what
I would do push ups to postpone smoking a cigerette. It has helped me increase my excersize.
Quitting smoking. Smoking decreases my health and life expectancy while costing me tons of money. Wish Iād never started.
Currently, I believe I do operate with a low time preference. Every extra penny I earn gets invested and I live a very minimal lifestyle. One thing I could cut back on is spending money on eating out. Sometimes when living a busy lifestyle it is just simply easier to purchase food that was prepared by someone else and ready to eat, rather than, going all the way home to cook and clean. One thing that may help is planning ahead a bit more and packing food when I know I will be busy for a long period of time.
Go out on dates maybe 1x/2x a week , instead of going out 3/ 4x. Use that time available to further educate myself in this crypto / programming journey Iām so obsessed about. Also making sure to TURN OFF phone for 2 hours in the evening, so there will be no receiving messages and focus even further.
start with 30 minutes
add 10 minutes every day to the original 30 minutes until 2 hours mark is reached. And CONTINUE with that habit.
I have planned to clean out my costly storage units (I have two). Consolidate down to one and bring that monthly cost down. This needs to be a priority.
What I really want to do is to take ⦠an hour a day ⦠and define and implement my personal strategy for writing strong, āBest Practicesā financial contracts that are proveably ānon-harmfulā, proveably ācorrectā is a bit harder. Iām looking at Cardanoās Marlowe language for financial contracts ⦠https://alpha.marlowe.iohkdev.io/tutorial/index.html#marlowe-model.
The really great thing about adopting this model is that the model can be adapted to ANY blockchain and any smart contract language, such as Solidity. This should boost my desirability on the Blockchain Engineer job market.
I should sleep 30 min less and invest more time on my education
Instead of buying, cooking and devouring exorbitant amounts of red meat every couple of days - we could have some more salads and vegetables, which are quite a bit cheaper - and save the roasted legs of lamb for Sundays.
I am going to take 1 hour of my time wasted on social media a continue to grow my Blockchain and Crypto knowledge so I can have a Full-Time career in Blockchain and Crypto .Eventually with time I may wake up with a smile.
Thatās exactly what Iām doing in this academy! Delayed gratification instead of instant gratification. Let me explain.
In my spare time I used to play video games a lot and I mean A LOT. Probably like 3-4 hours a day. When you are young you often donāt realise it, but when you get older you start to realise that playing video games so much is actually a waste of time. Of course some relaxation is always good, but to overdo it always turns out in just a waste of time. Iāve come to the realisation that Iāve wasted a lot of precious time for instant gratification, i.e. every spare time I had I spent playing video games.
Now my goal is to delay that instant spare time gratification and use it to learn new things, that ultimately will result in gratification. Getting more knowlegde is something that you will benefit from your whole LIFE.
I hope this will open your eyes (I see the same happening to my little brother and try to make him aware of it, ofcourse not forced).
Investing small amounts of money each week and holding those investments for the long run until they reach their projected increase versus spending small amounts of money each week on entertainment.

Buy certified used cars instead of buying new cars.
