Hello All!
Jack here. I recently finished up a degree in Financial Engineering, which was an in-depth dive into financial theory, economics, mathematics, and computer science all piled on top of an engineering problem-solving framework.
I always found myself in a bit of a pickle with this. Growing up without a whole lot of means, I never had that desire to go work in the finance realm and help the current system prosper more than it already has, diverting wealth, seemingly, in one direction. (This is simply my own view from life experience, I am not looking to cause a stir here) Essentially I did not see a whole lot of viable opportunity in that world that would allow me to be successful but also to drive positive change and impact for the world. I think Financial Engineers should be doing more than that.
This lead me to spend every available moment I was not working researching Cryptos/Coins/Digital assets, DeFi, and the endless opportunities these technologies offer the world. I decided “Hey, Im spending all my available time researching this stuff, I obviously have extensive knowledge and passion for this realm, why not apply my technical computer science skills and in-depth understanding of finance in a productive manner”. I trade cryptos and employ various trading algorithms to do so, but I do not think that is where the growth is. The growth exists in education. So here I am, excited to be a part of this community.
