Hey guys, I’m Alex from Berlin and my interest in crypto started with the 2017 hype. At first it was solely a financial thing to me but after learning how many of our problems can be solved with Crypto, DeFi and so on… I defintely see more in it. Excited to see what I can learn here. Thanks for doing this Ivan!
Hi everyone, my name is Hardeep. I am currently unemployed (I’m at a loose end after a couple of failed ventures) and in my mid-fifties. I live near London, UK and have been learning about crytocurrencies since early March 2020. I recently made my first investments in BTC, ETH, and 22 other coins via Coinbase and Binance.
I signed up for the Ivan on Tech Academy on 29 April 2020 after watching a few of Ivan’s YT videos. I’m not sure where this journey is going to lead me and despite my relative “maturity” I am willing to learn and ready for a fresh challenge. I’m excited about the world of blockchain and crypto currencies, trading and investing, and maybe even carving out a new career (yes, even at my age!).
I know there’s a lot of young talent here on this forum and in the Academy, so I’m hoping to learn from you all. I’m old enough to realise that humility is a prerequisite for growth, so I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m an old dumb guy who doesn’t have a clue about this rapidly evolving brave new world.
Thank You for the warm welcome…
I am 50 and 1/2 years old. I got into BTC back in either 2016 or spring 2017.
I have been and still am a union Ironworker. I fix and build bridges and do maintenance at a few of the local steel mills. Currently I have been laid off due to the Covid Plandemic. So I am now trying to take advantage of this time off with these courses. Ironworking is sometimes labor intensive and dangerous but very rewarding at times. However, I don’t want to do it for the next 15 years looking forward to receiving a pension that may or might not be there.
I have 2 side businesses. I sell, install and service various different types of water systems in the northern Ohio southern Michigan region. www.customwaterservice.com. I also am a self proclaimed musician. I wear the spandex and do the vocals. Free covid parody song listens and conspiracy theory videos at www.theflowhiteshow.com. Enjoy! So I’m thinking I can utilize some of these new technologies to enhance these two businesses. Dont know how yet but who knows?
For the past three decades I have out of necessity and hobby studied law. Seen and done some very interesting things. In so doing I inevitably started learning about money and became a metals bug. So when I heard about BTC years ago, it really intrigued me. Just wish I didn’t wait until 16/17 to get in. At that point it was fomo.
So I am hoping I can change carriers or enhance my businesses or both. Not being a computer geek, going into Ivan on Tech Academy seemed a little daunting but I felt I had nothing to lose. I feel that if the rest of the courses are as fun, stimulating and simply explained like the BTC Block Chain Basics 101, I have a good chance at that. I’m excited to move on and looking forward to potentially meeting new friends and networking.
I liked your reply. I feel I’m kind of in the same place as you. Good luck!!!
Hi Hectorgato (should I say Neil?) I really appreciate the welcome message. It’s good to know I’m not alone.
Just listened to Vaccine Man. What a funky tune. I didn’t expect it to be as good as that, I loved it!
Hello Ivan,
I live in Italy and during lockdown I starter to learn something new about crypto because I’m also interested in finance and in the last year I totally Lost confidence in bank and centralized economy. I love learn something new every day and think that comes because I like chemistry and physics from my studies. My country has got a lot of problem about economics and we are really confident that #allgoeswell but in reality we don’t want see reality anyway I’m exited to learn about blockchain and crypto project I think that they could help us to solve problem and remove burocracy that Is a huge problem in my country. Thank you for creating this university!
Hi Ivan
Finally decided to get stuck into your course, it’s nostalgic seeing all the stuff from 2017, I’ve been following you for a long time now but always as a lurker. Still loving the content after all this time, keep up the good work mate
Oh geez! Thanks. You know that the tune actually was taken by the Spinners song Rubber Band Man. Are familiar?
My name is Mark. I am 59 yr old and live right next to a cornfield in Missouri, USA. I am a heavy equipment operator specializing in agricultural soil conservation. Talk about being out of my comfort zone, I didn’t even know how to copy and paste till I got into crypto in Nov. 2017. Its been an interesting ride and I can’t put it down.
Hello. I am Juan, 28 and currently do R&D for a manufacturing company in Chicago. I look forward to learning from and contributing to the growing community.
Hello Ivan and everyone!
My name is Marc and I live in Melbourne, Australia
I have been following bitcoin and cryptocurrencies since the start of 2018. Coming from a finance background, bitcoin caught my attention as an alternative investment offering a high risk/reward. Looking further, I realised the technology behind bitcoin is blockchain and the power it holds can change the world in many great ways.
I have no experience in coding, but I would like learn as much as possible to address the problems I see in financial services and also in the music industry.
In my spare time, I enjoy health and fitness, playing video games and music production.
Looking forward to learning from you all
hey, greetings from Louisiana
Hello, Ivan and everyone in the forum. My name is Valerie and I am a Registered Nurse in Lafayette, Louisiana and though not new to Crypto (2016) , looking to learn more of the technical, nuts and bolts of the technology.
I have been in the Crypto Space since Aug 2017, and have been intrigued ever since. Now, from Bitcoin Ben, and him talking about what he is building I want to be apart of that. So, I’m here to get my certification, and contribute my efforts towards education and mass adoption.
Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with Rubber Band Man. But then again, while I’m comfortable with almost all genres, I’m ashamed to say that my musical repertoire is limited. I’m the guy who just has the radio playing in the background and has never learned to play a musical instrument or invested in a collection. Now that I’ve said that out loud, maybe I’ll have a rethink.
Hi Hubert, welcome. That was a great intro. It’s good to know that you’re still in profit having learned some important lessons during the last three years. My own journey, both with crypto and with trading, started in early March so I’m keen to learn from those in this community who are more experienced than me. Good luck with the course and with your Uni studies.
Hi everyone!
My name is Abdar and recently got into the crypto space. I grew up in Australia and then moved across the sea to New Zealand about a year ago…I finished my undergrad in biomed science and about to finish my public health masters. However the kicker is that I work in sports graphics broadcasting…
So obviously the current Coronavirus situation has impacted our jobs with all sports cancelled. 6 weeks ago here in New Zealand we went into lockdown and I started thinking there has to be another way of having a solid income…I started looking to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency initially as an investment option and then the more I kept looking the more amazed I was at how the technology behind Blockchain and everything else in the space is…I’ve always had an interest in computer tech area and probably should have studied that instead haha!
I’m looking forward to learning everything there is to learn from the academy and hopefully make a future in the blockchain world
Good luck to everyone
Hi Everyone, My name is Brendan and I am a 43yo from Australia. The whole btc/crypto/blockchain movement is still so small in Australia and I want to learn from the experts so I can confidently spread the word and educate people. I hope to work somewhere in the space in the future, perhaps consulting and guiding business on how this tech can benefit them.
I like to think I’m a “People Person” and a “Numbers Guy”.
