While I’ve been aware for many years of the potential of blockchain to revolutionise the way things work and to break up the old monopolies of power through decentralisation, until now I never thought about learning the “nuts and bolts” myself - I am a total newb when it comes to IT, my friends might even call me a technophobe! I have been wanting to learn about Crypto and Blockchain for SO long but I have not been so inspired to do so until I came upon your incredible YouTube videos!
My name is Tom and I have worked in so many industries and changed careers a million times…it’s just too much to mention here. Through it all, I have always been obsessed with technology and computers, mainly through my love of music. Although I have no certifications and have never acutally worked in IT, I knew about crypto since it’s been around and always wanted to get involved.
I have been through a great deal of financial heartaches over the years and hope that this might be a way for me to finally get ahead.

My Name is Chris, I grew up on Long Island, lived in Miami for 8 years and now live back on Long Island. Growing up I always enjoyed playing soccer and participating in team sports. Cooking has always been my passion so I decided to pursue Culinary Arts, after learning how to cook like an all-star I decided to move more towards the front of house and focus more on Hospitality and Management.
I’ve worked 20+ years in Hospitality Management and Operations, everything from luxury hotels like Ritz-Carlton to boutique resorts in Montauk as well as many fine dining restaurants, organic and vegan restaurants, steakhouses and even SHAKE SHACK.
About 2.5 years ago I started learning about bitcoin and decentralized systems and fell down the rabbit hole. Not just for its financial freedom but because of the potential blockchain has to liberate and free humanity from it’s centralized and controlled systems. I found it all to be so interesting and wanted to join the good fight in doing so.
Ivan On Tech is one of my main sources for reliable information on blockchain and that is why I decided to join the team and begin taking courses. My goal is to combine my knowledge of blockchain and years of hospitality experience create a dApp for small businesses that allow trusted and reliable feedback from customers recorded on a public blockchain. Think Yelp meets Instagram with rewards for businesses and users, a Win-Win-Win for all (business, customer, community)
Taking these courses I plan to learn as much as I can in this industry to secure a good job to provide for my family and to build out my dream dApp that will help small businesses rise up from the ashes after this pandemic passes.
