Introduce yourself

Hi

My name is Eric. Just joined the basic course. I am from Malaysia. After the internet boom, I was curious about the next technological movements and opportunities. I begun to watch cryptos around mid-2016. Found it very facinating but not having programming knowledge sometimes I find difficulty is fully understanding certain discussions on YouTube or crypto articles on the internet. Since there is so much talks on cryptos and blockchain and their potentials I really want to be able to fully understand and be involved in it.

Hello my name is Thierry. I’m here to learn a lot about bitcoin. I come from France.

Hello world!

Looking forward to advance my career as a developer in the blockchain technology. I’ll be more than happy to help and won’t hesitate to ask questions. Glad to join the community!

Hi everyone!

Hey there from Perth, Australia. This is my second go at a blockchain course so I really want to make it stick. Been in cryptos for a couple of years and been following Ivan’s youtube channel for a while. Time to become part of the developer community so I can fund my surfing in all parts of the planet :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello there,

I am Daniele, I am 27. I studied code some years at school then stopped because my working life too a different path. I just want to get back into coding and I am curios to learn how to created dapps.

Hi,
I’m Daniel. I’m a 27 year old Canadian living and working in China. I work in the wealth management industry, helping Chinese high net worth individuals invest abroad and my goal is use the knowledge from this course to revolutionize and for a lack of a better term “disrupt” an industry that is pretty traditional by today’s standards. Can’t wait to get started  :grinning:

Hi. I’m Cheryll Ann and I was so lucky to win access to the Academy as a viewer of the Ivan on Tech Youtube show. Thank you guys! I am very interested in how the blockchain will fix the world through changing technology for the better and delivering transparency and trustlessness within technical, social and financial interactions. I’m a newbie so I’ve started with Bitcoin and Blockchain 101 and Ethereum 101. I’m moving on to Java and following through the other programming courses. My boys love games and no matter how often I prod them to learn to code and make some kind of game, they would just rather play them. I know if I take the initiative to learn, I become more skilled, I can create things, I may be able to lead by example. As a Realtor in South Florida I am also very interested in how blockchain will change this tedious space, eliminate the bad actors and provide real transparency to buyers in the industry. Thank you again Ivan and Filip!

Hi my name is Iz and I live in the US. I work a regular 9-5 type of job. I use to sell electronics years ago. But I’m still a bit of a techi. I use to install car stereos and alarms. Back then installing a pc or an original xbox in your car to play music was considered a pretty cool mod. And there you go I just dated myself. Anyways I knew about bitcoin when it was at 30 cents and I missed the boat. I got back in in 2016 and haven’t left since. I’ve been accumulating slowly and feel pretty seasoned. The market charts don’t scare me anymore.

Hi there, my name is Omar and I’m a software engineer from Canada.

Wanted to write up an ethereum contract and wanted to learn by more than just looking at the solidity docs. Have known of Ivan but haven’t followed his show too closely. I did gather that he was in software, and was interested in checking out his courses in the space, specifically the new Ethereum 201 course.

I have blitzed through a lot of the content, so hopefully I will be posting my answers to the various questions and assignments in the coming days, and asking for occasional help around Ethereum development as I had a couple of things I potentially wanted to build. I actually quit my software job a couple of months ago, so this has been a refreshing way to use my skills in a way I’m more passionate about.

I found out about Bitcoin via Andreas on Joe Rogan’s Podcast, though I was already a believer in Bitcoin long before: I watched this documentary Zeitgeist, which had its flaws, but it taught me about fractional reserve banking and the flaws of fiat currency essentially. When I heard about Bitcoin years later, I instantly loved it for its decentralized and censorship resistant properties. It was at ~$300 at the time but a couple of factors kept me from onboarding at the time. I have been following the space a bit more closely, and decided to finally jump in.

While I am a fan of Bitcoin, I’m more excited about DeFi possibilities on Ethereum, or a no fee environment of EOS as a developer. Experimenting with governance is also an interest of mine.
