DeFi Ecosystem - Discussion

One yeah after this course was released I am writing this as we are in the middle of the bull run and one of the latest crazes (apart from NFTs) is Polkastarter on Polkadot, which is more related to DeFi. It is extremely hard to get in and right how it takes about 3-4k USD to join any project on it, returns being crazy like 30x and 50x. Will be funny to see how this post ages, and what else comes along.

“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.”

I think you should add some identity / kyc app like bloom for example

I’m interested in seeing what Polkamarkets brings to DeFi once it’s up and running, might be worth inclusion.

Hello,
How about this SafeMoon project? It is a pretty new DeFi. It would be great a feedback on this one.
Thank you,
Maia

Greetings!
I must admit I am going thru DeFi 101 for a second time and so much more is coming clear the second time thru. THANKS!
So technically I am back again making a suggestion geared more towards my leanings.
I would like to get some feedback on the music distribution apps and or some of the streaming applications that exist in DeFi. I saw a few listed and just thought it would be great to get a general overview for those who are artists and/ or content creators or otherwise interested in these DeFI sectors.

How about exploring Etherisc? Make Insurance Fair and Accessible. A decentralized insurance protocol to collectively build insurance products.

I came across this article that I found interesting and could be discussed in the DeFi course. It talks about flash loans that are being processed without any collateral. This paragraph is from the article.

“Here’s how flash loans typically work: Borrowers can take collateral-free loans from lenders and use the proceeds for whatever they want. One of the most popular uses is to arbitrage discrepancies in coin prices on different exchanges. The key is that the loan, the trade and repayment are bundled into the same block of transactions being processed on the Ethereum digital ledger and are executed simultaneously. The time from borrowing to returning a loan typically takes seconds. In the example, the transaction gets submitted to the network, temporarily lending the borrower the funds. If the trade isn’t profitable, the borrower can reject the transaction, meaning that the lender gets their funds back in either case. As far as the blockchain is concerned, the lender always had the funds. The user pays blockchain processing fees.”

It is evident that understanding the DeFi risks clears the path for solving them. Any individual in the field of DeFi would be unreasonable in assuming that DeFi does not pose any risks. Learning about, accepting risks and learning how to manage the risks in DeFi, I believe will pave the path for efficient mass adoption of DeFi products and services. With that said, I believe that the development of applications that entail the use of “Stablecoins” as a reward system, and applications that build, strengthen and encourage the inclusion of the web 3.0 like Tokeny solutions and Chainlink.

To recap, the usage of applications or an application with more Stablecoins as a reward system, and applications that build, strengthen, and encourage the inclusion of features of the Web 3.0 are essential.

Warden Swap. A new DeFi project on BSC.

Thanks for the content. INJ Protocol seems to be a good one.

Loopring is also worth checking out, it is built on Etherium like Uniswap but it uses zkRollups as a layer 2 scaling solution, so the fees are significantly less.

Check it out:

I would say Mantra Dao is interesting with polkadot borrow, staking and lending.

Perpetual Protocol looks cool. I like the idea of the average Joe gaining access to futures and derivatives trading. I freely admit that I don’t fully comprehend exactly what they are and how they work, but all the same it’s good to see these kind of financial markets become available to the general public.

Project that seems very interesting for me is Reef Finance https://reef.finance/. It is a very new project that is a cross chain platform. They have nice and simple app https://stake.reef.finance/. I think it’s worth taking a look on that dapp.

I will say Sushi swap…

Trustswap are offering great help for new projects these days.
