DeFi Ecosystem - Discussion

it would be nice to take a look into some CeDeFi as well, such as PancakeSwap and its forks or clones, copycats? don’t really know how to name it… such as apeswap, that also runs on the BSC

Pancake swap is a promising project.

https://amptoken.org/docs/amp-101
Amp, I believe, could prove to be very useful in the future. A token that is used to collateralise a transaction, so while a transaction is waiting for verification as long as it has consensus the funds, or any medium of exchange can be fast tracked as being secured. Even before it is actually official confirmed.

Scifi Finance a tokenised investment fund looks promising.

Keep Network (Keep) should be on the list.

When it comes to dApps and DeFi projects…the team shouldn’t have the keys. The Keep Network features off-chain containers for private data called keeps that give smart contracts deep interactivity with private data without compromising transparency or auditability. With Keep, developers can finally build fully decentralized apps.

Ethereum gas fee is sooooo high right now, I cannot afford it. As an alternative, I tried farming in PancakeSwap. APY is very very high.

  1. Now that the gas fee for Ethereum based Defi is so high, its time to explore other ecosystem. I’ve been using BSC(Binance smart chain) which has very low fee and high transaction speed. As as a newbie this allow us to explore Defi projects without paying high Gas fee .

im really excited about Sifchain!! ‘‘Sifchain is the omni-chain solution for DEXes. More performant, more robust cryptoeconomics for trading and security, more flexible trading capabilities, an extensible omni-chain roadmap and eventual true DAO governance. Sifchain is the future of DeFi’’

Hi Amadeo,

Blocpal is a project that I like the look of. Seems they have a solid team and some interesting projects already on the go.

Category: Payment processing

Cheers

Hi! I recently came across Parsqi token’s PRQBOOST program (see link for details). You need to offer up ETH and PRQ tokens into a liquidity pool and you earn interest in the form of PRQBOOST tokens.

PRQBOOST — The what & how of PARSIQ’s new token | by PARSIQ | Feb, 2021 | Medium

The team also has a very nice system where you can input how much capital you would be willing to put into the pool to understand what your expected rate of return would be. Your rate of return fluctuates depending on what percentage of the pool your capital makes up, so it also tells you what percentage of the liquidity pool you would hold if you got involved. They made it very clear!

PRQ x ETH Liquidity Shares (parsiq.net)

Perpetual protocol looks really interesting. Enables you to do leverage trading in a decentralized way https://perp.exchange/

UniMex Network also seems to enable margin trading: https://unimex.network/

Both look like two interesting emerging projects!

I’ve been getting interested in REEF

Half way through the course, he did mention flash loans but as far, nothing. I’m really interested in those too.

Glitch could be a good option

Thanks Armadeo. I have been involved with Blockchain for a little while now - but very new to the Defi space. Wow, your course has opened my eyes to a whole new world, so thank you for that. You recorded this course a year ago now, and as I dig around, it seems that the space just keeps growing with new ideas, new players, and new applications. Difficult to get your head around the big picture of what is happening out there. But one area that has caught my attention is decentralised insurance. It would be good to add this to your description of the space, as this seems like a huge opportunity.

I think perhaps the other thing that has changed rapidly since a year ago is the emergence of alternatives to the Ethereum blockchain and EVM. Ethereum has become so expensive for gas fees. There are now much cheaper alternatives where presumably more and more protocols will emerge. Hyperledger for example.

The WISE Token ERC-20 contract was launched in October 2020 and is a staking platform offering a product similar to a bond.

Great lecture! I honestly don’t feel competent enough to find and/or recommend new de-fi projects that aren’t already in the thread. But I enjoyed the lecture, and will return to the thread if I find one

Hi , you can add in your list Venus (XVS) it is a DEFI project with lending and borrowing coins like ETH , Tether , BNB , Usdc etc.

The Pi network is great social crypto that everyone should be a part of they just launched a wallet and are doing tests. I can send a code to join if you want!
