Plasma.Finance is an interesting DeFi project. It’s an App where you have a dashboard and you have all the DeFi instruments in one place. Portfolio managment, liquidity pools, lending & borrowing, Fiat on/off Ramp, Dex and Swap aggregator, Cross-chain asset swap.

Hi,
I like Nord Finance( NORD ).
Nord Finance, a blockchain agnostic platform, is an advanced decentralized financial ecosystem focusing on simplifying decentralized finance products for users by highlighting traditional finance’s key attributes. Deployed on the Ethereum Network, it integrates multi-chain interoperability, thus proposing a plethora of financial primitives, which constitute savings, advisory, loans against assets, investment/funds management, and swaps.
Hi Amadeo B.:
Very interesting and forward looking topic. As a “traditional” perspective, (boomer type ) what are the forms of collateral that can be used in the crypto world, other than Crypto?
(Real Estate - Cars - Time-Share - Gold…anything?)
Really just wrapping my head around all of the options, blocks, interactions - thank you for all the hard work. Need to review a second time to comment further. Interest rates are astounding.

There is interesting projects on the Polkadots ecosystem for example: https://www.polkadex.trade/
DeFi indexes are interesting concept also, found this from Twitter:
https://indexed.finance/index/degen
Radix. In combination with its own functional programming language, Lego-like building block development environment, and on-ledger developer incentives. DAOVentures, CELR
Leave a comment with a DeFi project that needs to be in our DeFi Ecosystem overview.
Looking at a few different DeFi projects, but the ones that capture me are:
- My Neighbor Alice
- Kira
- Cartesi
This is about a game, inspired by games such as animal crossing, that will "introduce blockchain to millions of players". Link is: Alice
This is about "powering DeFi with liquid staking". Link is: Kira
This is about "smart contracts taken to the next level". Link is: Cartesi
I would pick Radix for now.
Why?
(from their website)
Radix is the only protocol that uses sharding to deliver linear scalability — without breaking composability. This means that Radix can meet the throughput needs of any number of dApps as the network grows, and all of those dApps can continue to interoperate without limitation.
Hasn’t been released yet, but Flare might change the game on the blockchain system. Going through the XRP network, having its own token called Spark, will work a bit different than others blockchain because it consensus algorithm wont work with the proof of stake, and promises to be safer, faster, cheaper on gas and will be able to connect others tokens together making it easer for the users.
Superfarm, seems to want to pioneer the newly emerging NFT ecosystem. Current Defi in the space doesn’t seem as ambitious. Their main diversification from existing defi, seems to be the intention to bring the gaming industry more fully into block chain. Imagine being able to generate your own in game features, through NFTs e.g. a shield, or weapon in a combat game.
Any food item with the word “Swap” next to it.
i.e. Pancake Swap
Ox. They are an open-source crypto exchange dApp with their own token.
I think Dharma does a great job with their wallet and the various ways in which they protect users because they have a multisig wallet and you can opt out of account recovery. They also take a full week including indentity verification via video call with a full time employee of Dharma. I think that they have a great defi protocol, and that they should be included in the discussion.
Chainlink : LINK
If you go by Market capitalization, then the LINK token is having the highest market cap. The token is an oracle service on the decentralized platform that enables the users to access the data, payments, and other events without compromising on security.
It is a different one from the rest as it involves an oracle that provides the data from outside to trigger the execution of the smart contracts. It is one of the most promising DeFi projects in the current times having huge potential. At present, the rate of interest it provides to the investors is around 4.35%.
I read this on an article which link will be below. It gives information about Chainlink and what it is able to do. I liked this one so I thought I had to share it with you.
Probably mentioned many times, but I’m most excited about the DeFi services that will be launched on the Cardano network this year.
I really like the Marlowe smart contract builder which is designed to allow even non-technical users to build their own contracts which is a game changer.
It is also going to be interesting to watch how many dApps and smart contracts make the move over to Cardano, as this is going to be possible with very limited disruption.
@amadeobrands I installed Metamask as an extension on my Chrome browser and added another token (YOP token). I currently have YOP in my Coinbase wallet and want to send it to my Metamask wallet. Is the Metamask wallet address used to receive any token that is in the Metamask wallet or is there a separate address used for the added tokens in the Metamask wallet?
Hi @amadeobrands and everyone, I’m new to this space so please correct me if I’m wrong. From my understanding, DApps are mostly built on the Ethereum Blockchain, since ETH allows the creation of Smart Contracts.
Meanwhile, Cardano (ADA) is launching its Goguen phase soon that allows Smart Contracts to be built on top of ADA Blockchain, not only that but it aims to attract non-techy-savvy people to build these Smart Contracts using Marlowe Playground
For a newbie-crypto aspiring to become a blockchain developer, would ADA be a good place to build smart contracts (once the Goguen phase rolls out)? Personally, it would be hard to compete with smart-tech people that already built so much on top of Ethereum.
I’m just putting my thoughts out here, I would really love to go full-time crypto with the little (but continuously growing) knowledge that I have, thanks to the Academy of course!
or Sushiswap. LOL, what "food"swaps would be next? maybe Taco Swap?
Hi Amadeo , thank you for the the good explanation on how the DeFi ecosystem works .
I enjoyed the classes .
After exploring the ecosystem I found Synthetics (SNX) and Alchemix (ALCX) to be wonderful projects :
-Synthetics is a derivatives liquidity protocol which uses synthetic tokens locked up as collateral for Synths ,
Synths are synthetic assets, minted against the value of cryptoassets staked as collateral.
synths can then be traded as track real world assets . a very good idea I think
-Alchemix is a platform which allows borrowing, lending and staking , the most interesting twist in the project is the fact that when you borrow your debt pays itself off on its own , of course this is only possible because the use the Yearn.Finance Vaults .
Links to both projects below.
Best Regards
