I’m not sure, I don’t use Windows and haven’t been mining Bitcoin. There used to be bfgminer
and cgminer
.
This program cannot be run in DOS mode
I’m not sure, it should open a command window and execute bitcoind
but you will also have to setup launch options to start the daemon in regtest mode.
Yes because ""
are used to pass strings as arguments to the command, if you used it to execute the command it would interpret that you passed a string to the console.
./
is more common in *NIX systems and M& uses \
. I would recommend you use Powershell instead of DOS prompt because it supports UNIX like syntax.
I’ve downloaded bitcoin core, but it has only given me a wallet. I’m in Texas. Is there a chance that the other files aren’t available to me? Because daemon never installed. Neither did anything else. Just a wallet and the test net wallet.
You should have all files in the folder you installed it. Are you sure you installed the bitcoin core wallet?
Yes, I realized it was a location error. Thank you for responding.

Have you tried running bitcoind with -reindex: ./bitcoind.exe -reindex
?
If you just started you can also just remove (or backup somewhere else) the data directory of Bitcoin. On Windows its located in %APPDATA%\Bitcoin
:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory
Move the contents of that folder and try again

@Alko89
thanks for answering back, so i have to write as follow:
./bitcoin.exe -reindex
That is right?)
You can try, have you changed the config in some way or “not safely” shut down the node to get the error?
If this doesn’t work, then try to remove the chain data from the Bitcoin data folder.
cheez im madlearning dying here
ill get it
