Whenever I make a decent score in poker I punt off a decent amount of my winnings in a buy-in level above my skill level
. If I could be more disciplined and manage my poker bankroll more efficiently I would make more/lose less in the long term.
I have the habit of rushing through any endeavor. It may be psychological, or it may be I feel mentally challenged by the proposed work, or study. When I was younger I wanted to prove to myself that I could do things that are constructive and learn what others already knew and had confidence in what they knew. Well, my rushing through task did not displaced me at first, but when I began to grow older then I realize that instant gratification for rushing doing my tasks had began to take toll on me. This was psychological, or realistically. I learn to learn sort of speaking. I had to create new habits deprecating the instant gratification I had experience whenever I accomplished a task quickly and correctly. It paid only for a little while and not in the long run. Now, I focus on taking my efforts and work to accomplish goals that will benefit when my energy is not as abundant. A task now I can realize it may be complex and hard, but no problem, learning how to finish it and create a repeat success rewards over time I find it better then quick gratification for short term investment of my time. Well, that is all I can share about breaking a bad habit even if it took me some time to realize it. Until next time, Juan.
I think the most fundamental thing to being more frugal in life is to just put money or crypto away where you wont be tempted to touch it
I could eat less junk to increase my health and fitness both physically and mentally.
I have a bad habit of staying awake later than I should, whether its binge watching Netflix or cram studying for a test. I think going to bed earlier and having a constant sleep schedule would make my next day more productive and beneficial.
Spend less time on screens.
1.Going to bed a little bit earlier to wake up earlier.
2. Including daily exercise and going out for walks.
A more structured life. For instance going to bed at the same time every night.
But also make daily goals which need to be done first.
Disconnect more from digital media and spend more time learning something useful.
i propose to change my lifestyle for the better and allready started changing for the future by buying a new bike, its arriving this friday, so getting out on a bicycle whatever the weather for at least half an hour a day, i have some great parks nearby and have recently ( its 2 months, 4 days now ) stopped smoking so the fresh air will do me good as well as the excersize, i do need to reward myself with something as well , as when i achieve something , in my head i still need or feel i do need a cigarette to go and relax, then realise i dont smoke anymore and dont want to start getting fat and eating… so i need something i feel to curb that instant gratification a cigarette once upon a time sorted out…: so any suggestions guys ? lets see how many actually read this !! smiley:
I could eat less processed foods and take the time to prepare healthier meals more often.
Waste less time on social media and netflix and spend more time doing things that are beneficial to me like self-education, reading, exercise.
I could limit high risk investments like weekly options trading which is prone to high losses and instead, invest in long term projects
Change from staying up all night working on things I’m excited about, to sleeping more and waking up earlier to have a healthier circadian rhythm and have a head start on work in the morning.
A goal that I have for myself is to wake up earlier, and workout earlier. As of now, I tend to snooze my alarm and take my time to do my workout. If I implemented a time goal a bit earlier and got my workout done earlier, then I could spend more time learning through the Academy and be done the courses and on my way to a blockchain career sooner.
1. Propose a change you could make to one of your habits, that would reduce your time preference from high (instant gratification) to low (delayed gratification) time preference. It could relate to any aspect of your life (financial, diet, exercise, relationships or education).
I could rewire my brain to go to sleep and wake up at the same time 7 days a week which would result in a more balanced circadian rhythm, increased energy throughout the day and more productive use of alloted time.
The thing that I’m changing is that when I’m shopping, I began to ask myself: do I really need that plus, I found that my rate is very high in favor of NO, I would say at least 90% maybe more.
Stop smoking and buying cigarettes. Saves a lot of money which then can be used to buy more crypto.
Spend less time in social media and use it more for exercise and education
I propose less sugar. Just consume less or none at all. I can do this.
