I attend an F45 gym which is a luxury gym that costs a substantial amount. I’m about to cancel in favour of home workouts to save that extra money so I can invest it in my future. Possibly at the expense of my current physical health and physique.
I should spend less time on my mobile devices and instead use that time for studying blockchain and improving my coding.
Wake up little earlier to study so the future me would thank himself
For me what the problem was majorly before was overspending in general, i still struggle a bit hear and then but not as nearly much as before.
I have already started to reduce and, in some instances, cut out totally all of the excess spendings that I have been doing and redirect those funds for savings and to enhance my emergency fund.
I will reduce watching too much movie/drama series during my free time. It’s fun but anything “too much” is not good. Instead I will spend more time learning new skills and educating myself like what I am doing right now at IOT Academy for the better future.
Probably be more respectfull of the traffic regulations, It would take me more time to park, to go from A to B etc. But I spend so much money paying fines!
Activity lesson 2.
I have a habit of spending or sharing my earnings with immediate and extended family members and certain people in need, be it charity or individuals. There is a high time preference here (a short term gratification). The good feeling of solving other peoples problem I cannot describe here. As a result, I can hardly save enough money for a rainy day or investment.
In order to reduce such a high time preference without totally getting rid of the feelings of giving, I proposed, for now, to give 2-3% of my earnings and save or invest the rest after expenses. These will reduce my high time preference of instant gratification and move in the direction of delayed gratification, creating my wealth.
definitely cut the phone and do anything else besides looking at the screen
I have decided to not have FOMO disease and when I see something I want, step away and say to myself will this bring you wealth. if the answer is No, I change my mind set.
I would propose to sleep 20-30 mins earlier each day. This extra bit of rest compounded on a weekly, monthly, yearly, etc. time frame could help me be more productive with working out and daily activities.
I would take part of my time off to grow my own vegetables. It is a rewarding thing to do, requires discipline, teaches you respect for nature, it could save money, good for the bees a life saver in case of food scarcity and also it’s good for you to eat veggies 100% organic.
As a person that works out quite often I often ‘‘reward’’ myself with a cheat meal after the workout. That gives me instant gratification and I feel less guilt, because I was just two hours in the gym, so I kind of justify it every time. Maybe if I could use my will power to battle this ‘‘need’’ of a cheat meal and instead have a healthy one, I won’t be so happy at the moment, but will hopefully see this extra belly fat go away in the long run and realize that it was worth it all along.
Control myself from doing certain activities during my days off that can make me happy for just a few hours. Instead, I will spend my time learning new skills that can help me in the future.
I agree with what I read that “Instant gratification behaviors can create problems by changing our brains, distracting us from more meaningful pursuits, and leading to destructive financial, social, and health outcomes.”
Going 70% instead of 100% all the time
I could stay home more often instead of going out with my friends and later on take a trip with the saved money.
i will do 2 (in words two) pushups every morning i wake up thats the right mini habit for me, i think.
By the way, nice to be here!!
I could buy half as many Starbucks coffees a week, or 1 less beer on a Friday night… More disposable income and less caffeine or alcohol…
well said, I’m a victim of the same!
If I could reduce my distraction time with items such as studying for the academy and soon to start the U. Nicosia digital currency course the delayed gratification could lead in a career change that I have been wanting for the past few years, but have delayed because I have a good gig and wanted to save enough money for our family before I could venture.
