Activity Lesson 2

For me, I will aim to reuse or multi-use items/accesories around the house to avoid spending – especially on single ticket items. Eg1: I don’t need that shiny, rolling pizza cutter. I can use my existing bread knife.

Basically it might just be a dollar or two that I save each time, but the important takeaway here is the mindset change to be thrifty. Every dollar not spent is a potential dollar towards an investment asset.

Now that I am working much less and from home I can spent more time learning in the academy instead of thinking that because I spent 1 hr learning, I deserve to play F1 2019 game for 1 hr.

Schedule a mandatory 15 minute “sanity break” in the morning and afternoons of my workday instead of “powering through” my day.

Wake up everyday and finish my workout before 5am, don’t have sugar with my coffee;
I end up feeling better if I stick to long term, or else I would suffer long term but have short gratifications.

Financial education, diet and exercise all have a role in delayed gratification. For me financial education and learning how and what money is and works in today’s fast moving economy can go a long way in establishing a sort of delayed gratification.

First of all, I have learned how to save after I invested in Bitcoin for the first time. Before that it was all that comes in goes out and even faster rate than comes in, meaning taking out loans. Bitcoin fixed that habit for me and now I’m saving instead of spending on things I don’t need.

I have to admit it, I’m a little bit overweight and would love to get in shape but for some reason even if I work out it doesn’t work and I recognize in myself exactly that I want to eat more if I exercise. It won’t help either that my fiancee loves cooking. But that’s basically it. Bitcoin taught me how to save, now I’d like to learn how to gen in shape.

I should reorganize my morning routine to be more efficient. For example: Excercise right away instead of waiting anddo the most import work early in the morning. This would help to move forward on my objectives.

I love to exercise. I love to eat. I love to eat after I exercise because it makes the food taste better.

That article hit home (blog post?) I’m going to focus on being more disciplined with my post work out calories. I also see this increasing discipline and focus in other areas of life.

I already don’t spend anything more than absolutely necessary in order to save up for frequent “mini retirements”. But I could def improve my overall productivity by decreasing a fair amount of youtube watching (news and politics primarily) and substitute that time with more reading books (which I already do anyway, just not as much as I would like). I am fairly successful though in employing small good habits on a daily basis.

Could have bought an expensive car, push the button and start driving. Instead I bought same car but very inexpensive, took the engine apart, fixed cylinder heads and valves, put the engine back together, pushed the button and now I am driving.
Took a fee weekends, a little bit at the time, but it all came together. The money I saved went to a good crypto cause! I learned a lot on the mechanical automotive side, and now I am also learning the money side.

I think that this course is a form of time gratification. I am investing an amount of time with no immediate material effect (I am enjoying the learning process though). But I have the longer term hope of being to use this new learning practically. It is a change to a habit (back to the question!) because this is happening under lockdown and it has been a chance to reassess what I can do with my time. I got into a certain routine under lockdown. You could say that the lockdown can entrench some habits but can also produce a shock effect and prompt people to consider how they will use this time: to rest from their current situation or plan to create a new one?

I could start working-out more often and decrease my alcohol consumption in order to improve my ability focus.

One hour before I go to bed I should not look on any screen and start for example reading so I would reduce the amount of blue light I perceive before I want to sleep which should help me fall asleep faster and make my sleep more effective for my tomorrow self.

Studing today is a change that i just made some months ago to invest the free time that i have today for ampliate my knowledge instead of using it for my immediate satisfaction wich could be a motorbike ride, or a day layng in the sun outside.

I like Slowcooking meat on my kamado bbq. I saw what happened with the meat of our supermarket and chose to buy meat at the slaughterhouse. The quality is so different and addictive but the other side of it is the costs I make are high. Eat less meat will help…But hey, Tell that to my ‘‘Omar Past’’

Instead of a shop bought coffee I shall take the time to make one at home. Not only will this save on the expenses it will give me the chance to once again experience it as a treat / luxury every once in a while.

I “proposed and already accepted” myself a change to one of my habits, deciding to join the academy and study. Before in the free time of my full time job i was just “wasting time” surfing internet, watching youtube etc , so instant gratification, the academy instead for sure is an example of a “delayed gratification” as studying could be “less funny” but gives something in the future that is very important.

Set a goal with my education in blockchain and also keep a journal to monitor my progress and track / course correct over time as needed.

Less coffee and caffeine in the immediate to tone down the tolerance a bit and then save it for when my future self truly needs it. =]. After I make this cup of course.

A habit I made in January was to put 15% money away in savings. Then the virus hit and I felt more secure because I had savings in case I needed it. I have gotten use to saving and now it feels good. I kept saving and now even though we have the virus I continue to save as there is nothing to spend money on. With this I plan to invest money in bitcoin with some of my savings and I am very excited about this.
