With the current economic situation, I think it will be around $50B by the end of the year. Some increase due to adoption, while not too much due to economic instability.

I expect it to be around 40 billion end year, because I expect the BTC price to be lower than today, at the end of the year. And if so, the other coins probably lose more percents than BTC, while at the same time, some more people will probably enter DeFi, such that the space might be almost stable.
Just my wild guess, and I think the space will be bullish again around or before the next BTC halvening.

Look at the current DeFi TVL on DeFi Pulse and post what it is in the forum along with your prediction of where it will be at the end of this year.
Currently it is 35.6 Billion Dollar.
Will rise 50 Billion Dollar by year end.

By the end of the year it will reach atleast 60B.

TVL is around USD 16.3 bn. Prediction for the end of the year is difficult as I unfortunately don’t have any crystal ball and as I don’t fully understand the key drivers (yet :)), but I would say that it could increase 10-20% (hence ~18-20 bn) driven by rising crypto user adoption, improvement of services and robusteness of the protocol. I would not bet on a strong increase like 2021 because people still need time to process the strong decrease of the last months/protocole failure (e.g., Terra). A key risk here is to have another protocole failure that would bring the whole TVL down again.

Nov. 16th 2022: DeFi TVL at $43.14b. Given everything that has been happening in the past couple of weeks, I think the TVL will come up a little to $44.03B by the end of the year.

Thanks Carlos, ya, I found it on defillama and https://coinmarketcap.com/ - but what’s weird on defillama, is BTC is separated out. Or at least it appears that way when I go to homepage > DeFi > Overview or Chains: https://defillama.com/chains.
