Infura is a node provider for ETH. It is a set of tools for anyone to create an application that connects to the ETH blockchain.

it makes accessing the ETH blockchain much faster, takes the burden of managing nodes off developers
3. What are the flaws of having so many people using it?
Infura is a centralized service. This means it can be shut down by attacks or governments.
4. What is the alternative to using Infura?
Providing your own node
