They announced they would do an ICO to a lot of backlash from the community. What do you think of the ICO?
Personally, I think they have gone an interesting route, they decided to invest a lot into their technology. If they were a fresh ICO, it would actually be quite a bold ICO and would probably be met with a lot of skepticism. But, by delivering their technology (at least in some part) first, they managed to circumvent that and show a very viable product along with a pretty decent token model.
Purely from the standpoint of an ICO that has value, this one checks all the right boxes, but the way they decided to go about it leaves a bit of sour taste in the mouth. But perhaps that points more toward the failing of the community / ethereum foundation in terms of funding open source projects? I’m sure this is partly Raiden’s green but at the same time I guess we can’t except people to work with no reward.
Anyway, what are you guys thoughts on the model? How about the tech?
