Eth is moving to Proof of Stake. I wondered where the server is? It’s on the blockchain, but is it like PoW where every computer has the copy of the whole blockchain? If yes, I guess that the staking is the hashing power.
The blockchain itself is always distributed to all ETH nodes. What differs is that the ETH blockchain is also storing all smart contracts on chain, not just transactions.
When you stake on ETH, you are depositing your assets to a smart contract. The transaction you made as well as the contract used is stored and executed via EVMs to the chain. There is no server, other than the entire ETH network.
