Keep learning in the DeFi space

Hi Carlos, I’m trying to set up a testnet to also practice interacting with the platform (as per Amadeo’s suggestion).

I’ve created a testnet account on metamask and selected the Kovan test network, then connected metamask to the Aave testnet market (k), but when trying to get KEth from Faucet, it’s GitHub link for requesting it isn’t working, and in order to do a request from the Gitter channel (the second option), an active GitHub account is required for verification (mine is new).

Could you or anyone please suggest how to go around this?

Thx for the course; time to practice it.

Thank you for the course. I would like to build my own hedge fund in DeFi as promised in the introduction to DeFi 201

On Ellio Trades recent ep he talks about UST stable coin. Currently 20% yield on Anchor platform. You need to:

1 use Curve to get some UST
2 transfer that to a Terra wallet, which is a chrome plugin like Metamask from http://bridge.terra.money
3 then go to Anchor https://anchorprotocol.com/ to deposit and get the yield

Unfortunately it seems that Curve will not be able to do this on Kovan network. I want to use Kovan because of fees. So I’m going to just do a basic DAI stake instead.

I was trying to figure out what collateral UST is using, from looking at Curve I guess it’s USDT and DAI and USDC.

Ellio said that UST once lost its peg for a short period of time, this is a new stable coin, so use caution.

At the moment you can borrow USDC on compound at 3.43% and earn 6.07% on yield finance. May be a possible way to make a profit but I would have to play around with it a bit more to see how this worked out!

I’m currently looking into how the Japanese financial market is going to utilize permissioned DeFi platforms like the upcoming permissioned AAVE platform for KYC financial institutions.

I believe sooner or later, they’re going to be new permissionless DeFi platforms from Japanese developers.

Will try to keep everyone updated if I find any.

Some dapps hints for new people into DeFi to start:

  • AAVE
  • QuickSwap
  • Mirror

I was wondering the same thing. You would think if you had the money you wouldn’t need to borrow it.

DeFI + NFTs + Gaming seems like a very interesting area to focus on

Not sure if this is a cool one, but here we can have a couple of arbitrage examples:

Amadeo,
Good course and you explain everything very well. Looking into Oasis, Aave…
At the moment, only a “few” people are familiar with the Defi protocols. So we’re still early…

Bedankt!

DeFi and NFT are going to be the future.

Thanks Amadeo for the course and explanations. Looking into the DeFi is limitless in terms of innovation development and you manage to make it well understandable.

Thanks Amadeo,
The course provided a plethora of knowledge that will needed to be reviewed again… at least for me. Please let me know when this course will be updated to reflect the DeFi space in 2021.

Thank you.

I hope in the future to be able to get a collatorised mortgae for a new homw at a tiny interest rate

Thanks Amadeos for the course. I am so disgusted by the gas fees that started to look for Solana’s Defi space you can find some of the projects here. I have been lurking into them.

so far this is my favorite thing about DeFi: https://rekt.news
i’m fascinated by the hacks are similar… this is the beginning of an epic game… esp the part where the deployers offer bounties… so many implications
watch out @rusokovich i just got done reading about the most recent exploit and now on to the less recent one: https://rekt.news/qubit-rekt
