Is the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology (DNA makes RNA makes Protein) a biomolecular level smart contract (in blockchain parlance)?
Transcription, Translation and Replication form the basis of central dogma of molecular biology. Can we draw corollaries with blockchain smart contracts about it…then does our body has a biological turing complete language we are not still aware of?
Interesting question! I can definitely see similarities between DNA and software - it’s like our machine level code - TCGT is the the equivalent of 0101. Blockchain and smart contracts are a kind of software. And yeah, our bodies run complex software compiled ultimately down to DNA and replicated and passed on. But it does make sense that we’d see analogies of engineering between biology and computer science - since we built this stuff!
I love this question. I’m going to be pondering this for some time! Perhaps we can get some inspiration from nature to build next level block chains
