Introduce yourself

Hi, my name is Paul. I’m here with no previous coding knowledge. I’m from Canada, 32, currently in business finance, with a masters in economics. Ivan was the ‘legit’ source that finally got me past my initial crypto skepticism (confirmed by many ico shills and technical analysts on youtube) and into the space last summer. Thanks!

Figured I should learn something useful and interesting before AI and blockchain replaces me and my co-workers at the big banks!

Hi everyone! I’m Carl. Really excited to be a part of this community. Can’t wait to learn about programming and crpto from this course.

I first got to know about cryptocurrencies through a friend earlier this year and have since then been following Ivan and the crypto space. I believe in what cryptocurrencies can do and hope to see it get adopted mainstream in the near future! :grinning:

Hi all,

I’m Paul. Former electronics engineer but haven’t worked in that for over 7 years. Last year I got into crypto finally and the more I am seeing the more interested I am. I have never worked as a programmer but I’ve written plenty of code as a tool in my job or for my own personal work (self employed), usually to automate stuff I find boring or inefficient. Have written perl, python, javascript, c++, c#, web (html, css etc), and a few others, but always by myself so I could use advice from more seasoned coders. I’m hoping to use this course as a quick refresher of the languages and then to apply to blockchain programming asap. I want to be an expert in blockchain :o)

Looking forward to interacting with you all and thanks to Ivan for putting this course together!!

HI all,
My name is Toon (pronounce tone ) and I am taking this course from my lovely home in Aruba! I have followed Ivan since approximately June 2017, watching (listening) to his video’s on the way to and from my work, back when I still lived in the Netherlands. I am actively participating in promoting blockchain and seeking opportunities along the way. I was lucky to be an early subscriber to this course an get it a huge discount, probably like most of you guys! I think this might be the best investment I have ever made. So I am really exited to start! Talk to you guys soon!

Hi all, I’m 27 from Johannesburg South Africa recently moved to Dublin, Ireland. I’ve got 3 years experience in trading the financial markets forex and commodites, however I’ve taken more interest in the crypto-markets and blockchain tech. I have no programming skills and would like to learn the back end of how it works and hopefully develop something that can be used in our everyday lives.

Hi everyone, I work as a truck driver but have always had a passion for technology. I found out about crypto back in around 2012 2013 when bitcoin was still new but didnt put much attention or research into it (witch i now regret greatly lol) but just around mid Q3 to beg of Q4 last year i started digging deep into crypto. I started investing Q4 when i knew a little about it and the prices were all shooting up FOMO I know. I have very little coding exp. and would like to expand that into blockchain.

Hello everyone. I am a commodity trader and a blockchain enthusiast. I have been following the space and İvan’s youtube channel since last year. I have zero programming experience and was looking for an opportunity to learn. Most important of it all, I don’t want to feel like a complete moron when my kids program everything in their lives:) I can allready see that Ivan could be a really good teacher:) cheers

Hi, my name is Manuel, I am 35 years old and live in Austria. I was introduced to Bitcoin 5 years ago by watching the Keiser Report on RT. This was quiet some time ago, but as my profession has nothing to do with programming I never dived into it. So thanks to Ivan I now have the chance to learn something new from the scratch. I am looking forward to learn a lot in the future and to be part of the revolution blockchain technology and programming is.

Thanks a lot for making this possible Ivan!!

Cheers from Austria

Hey $all, nice to see i am not alone.
.
I am quite an experience programmer, +50yr old. I haven seen the first devices coming, i was programming windows before windows became available and i was browsing before the internet was there. However, nothing beats what is going on now. Blockchain is soooo exciting i will take this last boat in my career.

I was just waiting for an opportunity and thanks to IvanOnTech, my favourite u-tube channel, for getting this organised.

Cheers

Hi there! My name is Pamela, I’m almost 30 years old and I live in Yucatán, Mexico. I’m native spanish speaker but I speak english and a bit of french.

In general, I’m new in the programming world and crypto, though I have an intermediate knowledge of R.

I’m interested in various and diverse topics such as data visualization, feminism, politics, economy, etc.

I joined this course because I really want to learn some of this, and also to see if I can make a career out of this.
My hopes about this course are focused in the community interaction and the quality and the content of the course, I think those are basic elements that can help to have a really deep commitment to finish the course.

G’day. Ben From Sydney, Australia. I’ve been aware of Bitcoin and the cpu mining of it very early on with within the private tracker Bittorrent community around end of 2009. I revisited Bitcoin when it hit an exchange and had a price but it didn’t stick within my attention. I purchased my first (2x) Bitcoin at $80 and sold a couple months later for a 50% profit. I later accepted Bitcoin as a currency in my new business in 2014 (still run it) when bitcoin was around 250 USD but did not invest personally still. Fluctuating prices and the upcoming Bcash fork made me research Bitcoin again in 2017 and Ethereum got me really interested. I personally invested in Eth, BTC and a handful of alts which are still well in the green even though I didn’t sell anything in the dec/jan highs.

I want to get more involved with cryptography and the DAO in general other then just day trading and holding crypto currencies. I can see the disruptive capability of the emerging governance within some of these crypto currencies. I would have to say Power Ledger (the only ICO I have participated in) and their road map really opened my eyes to the potential real world examples of blockchain and inspired me to try get involved with this emerging technology and the governance behind it. I elected to do Software design in my last years of high school (15 years ago now) and we learnt VB in the class and I did my final exam in PHP/MySQL. I haven’t really touched any software design since but I feel I have a foundation to build on with this in my history. I have also completed a trade (Boilermaker) to its formal limits here in Australia and practiced it for years now teaching other apprentices in the process. I learn something new in this trade every day I work it. I feel I have a sound understanding on the learning process of learning a new trade with an open mind at all times, always accepting new methods and processes.

Hope to discuss the curriculum in the forums with you all soon!

Cheers,
Ben

Hi, everyone. I became interested in blockchain and decentralization last year and really appreciate Ivan’s videos. The one he made reviewing Satoshi’s white paper is what convinced me that his academy was the one that I should sign up with to learn more.
