Hi, new to the academy. I have been curious about this space for a few years and am obsessed with innovation.
I work for a UK bank as a derivatives risk manager and have witnessed first-hand inefficiencies within the whole banking system. I have only scratched the surface but the importance of blockchain and what the technology will mean for our future is becoming abundantly clear. I am looking to learn more about the industry, improve my programming skills, and hopefully get involved in blockchain/cryptocurrency projects.

I’m portuguese, a MSc in Physics, father of wonderful 3 kids, married with a beautiful soprano and working in IT consulting for the last 2 decades. I have more interests than my free time can afford, but I enjoy photography, music, art, architecture and design, besides trying to keep myself updated in technology and science.
What brought me here was learning as much as I can about Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies. I guess it’s the right place

My job currently is Head of Operations in a big UX Agency in Greece, but my true passion is programming. I tried on a small scale as part of my work in VBA and javascript for Google Sheets, but really want to extend it. There was always an excuse not to pursue it, but now I will be committed!

Hi, I’m Sharon. I used to be in retail banking in the UK as a business owner of the CRM system and customer database working closely with IT but I have no programming experience. I fled to the Pyrenees about 10 years ago for a better life. It’s better, but I’m much poorer and there are no opportunities here to earn a proper wage.
I’ve been in crypto since june 2017, following Ivan and a select few others and survived the bear market. After trying a couple of other things around here I just decided to align my future goals with my passion for crypto and Ivan’s course seems like the best way to learn with the added direction of having a tutor and the support of a community.
I’ve been held back from doing this in the last few years because I was afraid that it would be hard to find work in this area being ‘old’ and a ‘woman’, but recently I’ve decided to not give a stuff about that and just go for it. Crypto is my passion!
Thanks for the Academy Ivan, it’s given me the entry point I needed and I’m looking forward to meeting and working with members of the community.

Hi everyone, writing this from an unusually sunny day in Bath where I could be out walking the dog and admiring the daffodils but instead find myself exploring a little further down the fascinating crypto rabbit hole! Most people I know are still either completely oblivious to $btc and blockchain or ignoring it as too complicated, so I want to make sure I really know what I’m talking about before I start twisting their arms. Also I’m in a bit of a deadend job after getting back to paid work after bringing up my kids so all up for building a new career. At least doing the course stops me checking crypto prices every 2 minutes!

I believe blockchain is the future and will be a big proponent in our evolution as beings on this planet. Hi @everyone, my name is Andrés im 37 years old, I’m from Spain 
but I have double UK and Spanish nationality) as Ivan said I also was involved in swimming sports when I was younger and now I work as a policeman in Mallorca, a lovely island im sure many of you know. Im a person thats always searching for new goals and since july from last year, when I bought my first sathoshis because a friend recomended me, I gone full crazy obsessed about crypto. By now I learned some basics, I improved my trading and portfolio investment, and also made many mistakes and got scammed. Im trying to learn everything I can and as sune as posible go full time on crypto would be great! This crypto world has showed me great potential and everyday the more I love it!
