I am very excited to be here. My name is Thomas, 33, living in Vienna. I already have some programming experience, had a loooong break from dev though. It was over 20 years ago that I learned QBasic as my first language and later on HTML, PHP, MySQL and C++. I then changed my focus onto music and am working as a self-employed music teacher and Yoga instructor since over 10 years now. Also, I love to build my own musical instruments, mainly handpans. During the pandemic my interested in Dev came back and I started to familiarize myself with Unity and C#. A couple of projects later (f.e. https://pan-lab-vienna.at/explorer1/ and https://pan-lab-vienna.at/player1/) I signed up for Ivan’s Academy, as I can see myself working as a Blockchain Developer in the near future.

I hope you all are having a great day! My name is Mike, or as my friends call me, Medic. I am a former US military member, fire fighter, and paramedic. Over the course of the last few years I have suffered some physical injuries that has forced me to give up those professions. Why was I in those professions to begin with? I enjoyed helping people.
Today I made the decision to take a new path, one that will allow me to continue to help others while making a difference in the world. That path? Crypto of course.
I bought my first Bitcoin in 2012 as a joke gift to my then wife. Of course, with it being a ‘joke’, I lost it…or rather the ability to use it. That ‘joke’ is now worth over $40k USD. Needless to say, I continued to view crypto as a joke until last year, 2020, when the virus hit our communities and I saw economies start to strain and buckle. With the constant printing of money, I began to worry about my financial future, my children’s financial future, and the world economy. That crypto idea was now starting to make a lot more sense to me.
Fast forward to today. I have spent a vast majority of my time since March 2020 delving into crypto, trying to learn what it is, how it works, and how I can help change the world with it. There is so much information and I don’t know enough to know what I should know. This coupled with my strong desire to be apart of something that is world changing, and wanting to improve my own life led to me taking the plunge headlong into the Academy to become full time crypto.
My goal is to be employed full time in the crypto space by the end of 2021.

My name is Sophie, and for the past 20 years, I’ve been a self-employed artisan, living in the province of Quebec where the majority speaks French, in Canada. I’m also american but have lived in Canada for the most part of my life.
With the big card shuffle of 2020, most of my plans were somewhat derailed, but being in the arts grants us with much adaptive abilities. So I spent my year diving into other passions, such as nature, gardening, medicinal plant harvesting, and gearing towards more self-sufficiency. Found a job to pay my bills in a National Park nearby. Feel grateful I wasn’t hit too hard personally by all this crazyness. Then, a friend keyed me into Bitcoin late 2020, which I had been curious about for a while.
I’ve been very bored and annoyed for quite a while with social media and the big tech and all, seems like all the promises it had for us all when it started have turned into a nightmare… which got me curious about alternatives. And that’s when a whole new world opened up to me, by discovering the decentralized web and all this vast ecosystem. Something clicked and even though I know nothing, I haven’t been this excited about the web since Internet “started” 25 years ago. I want to learn, it feels like there are so many possibilities.
So here I am. Extremely curious to see where this can lead me.

I have no previous background in coding but I am interested in learning as much as possible and figured Ivan On Tech Academy is a great place to start.
