Hi all, my name is Ciaran and I’m from the UK. I’ve been trying to piece together what info I could from the internet for the past 2 years, but decided I could do with some structure in my learning. Currently I’m a mechanical engineer, but looking to future proof myself by learning about programming and blockchain. I am also very interested in finance and investing but would like to understand more than just the basics about what I’m investing in.

Hello!

My name is Joanna Gentry. I am from Cheraw, South Carolina, USA. I recently graduated high school from a private Christian school in my hometown. I have been thinking about a degree in computer science/software engineering. My father recommended this online course to me for the summer because he believes blockchain, crypto, and coding technology might be involved in my future career. It could help me better prepare for what will lie ahead on my path.

Because I am only a beginner at crypto, I know there will be many things I will not understand at first. But I am willing to learn from you and help anyone else in this course who needs it. Technology is changing the way we live each day. Sometimes it’s scary, but other times it’s for our benefit.

Hello Academy friends,

I’m Douglas - from USA - and possibly one of the ‘senior-aged’ members here - I’ll be 68 this year.

BUT !

I’m still as stoked, feisty, and resourceful as I was in my 20s -
when I put myself through undergrad, and later through Chiropractic college,
as a professional surfboard builder and musician.

Some of us don’t allow chronological age to define our minds or hearts -
as one of my great heroes from Romania, Dr. Emanuel Revici (1896-1997) proved –

Each day right up until the day of his death at age 101 !!

Dr. Revici couldn’t wait to wake up and resume work on his life’s passion
for uncovering the secrets of the Periodic Table and its application to human healing - especially cancer.

Likewise, though I’m a retired Chiro (and still practicing [fascially-based] soft tissue guy),
I can hardly wait to wake up each day and learn the Next Big Thing
in this new later-life career I’m creating as an I.T. blockchain expert.

I look forward to this journey with you all of like mind and heart – it’s not a cliche’ to say:

“My purpose/mission is to create this world and Life for the Better/Best!”

Hi Guys,
My name is Martijn, I’m 25 years old and I’m from the Netherlands. I’ve always been very interested and enthusiastic about the blockchain solutions focused on sustainability. Therefore I’m a big supporter of the blockchain company VeChain and I’ve been a community moderator since 2017. Via social media(mainly Twitter/Telegram) I try to educate the community about blockchain related topics and the new developments within the ecosystem.
I’m currently working at a digital asset market data startup as business development manager but I want to be more involved in the actual development and want to work at a company focusing more on sustainability.

Let’s make the world a better place.

Martijn

Hi guys, I am Tim, 26 and finally got to start the course today, purchased it back when it was on pre-sale but never got to start it. I’m very excited to finally dive into programming, although I dont see myself in becoming a real expert and focusing my career on it (…yet), I just really want to have a deeper understanding of how things actually work in the “misty” world of programming. When I am not studying for uni I am usually busy working on my startup named Spacify, cooking, playing chess, running, traveling and reading.

I am happy and excited to get in touch with this thriving community that Ivan + team built, am always up for a game of chess or a chat on whatever topic. And of course, in case I got any of you curious about Spacify, feel free to check it out on the iOS/iPadOS App Store, it surely will help you to remember the information you learned particularly in this course and also the one you encounter in your everyday lives, I promise you that.

Cheers, Tim
