Introduce yourself

Hello from Toronto,

Only been in Crypto space for last 6 months. Invested a little bit so far, interested in and looking at the various possibilities from an application angle and also trading. I spend most of my time doing Database (Sql Server, Oracle, Powershell, python) type of scripting and troubleshooting.

I watched some of Ivan’s vids which were interesting. I like his take on the development angle of all things blockchain.

Hopefully, I can contribute any knowledge I gather and ask for help from others…

HI dredd. Nice having you here. I live in Guatemala and want to help people get into crypto. any good idea where they could buy coins other than localbitcoin? The best I found so far, which allows them to link it to a bank account was coinmama.

Hi guys my name is Stefano, I’m form Naples, Italy.
I’m an hotel receptionist and songwriter.

Recently I read Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad, a great book that has opened up my financial horizons.
One crucial point in Kiyosaki’s book is the recommendation to buy assets in order to become wealthier, and I think Crypto Currencies are a great asset.

In the past years I already had heard about Bitcoin but I never paid too much attention to it… what a mistake!

Now I feel a bit like “I’ve missed the train”
Maybe, I hope, it’s not too late to invest some money in it.

I’m glad to meet you all!

Stefano_Esposito, welcome, it’s never too late, enjoy the experience.

Here is a nice slide from Louis Thomas in regards to where we are at with crypto adoption. We are still in the innovators part of the curve.

Thank you, I’m glad to know that!

Dear Crypto pub,

I am happy to find a more organised and very nice looking forum to share our cryptosophy. I agree, slack is a way more messy, i dont figure how a multi mass chatbox like slack can help.

Some background:

I just got activily into blockchain since this summer. I bought my first bitcoin from a friend who needed some cash and only had bitcoin to sell LOL

In september I invested some more and got my first portfolio. STEEM 10%, NEO 40%, LITECOIN 10%, ETHEREUM got stolen by a phising scam (luckily most of my shares where in NEO)

and today I got IOTA 40%

For some reason I feel that my best way to invest in crypto is to educate myself better about blockchain & coding. Thats why I envision a carreer as a programmer, as it seems that this market is in its very early stage and demand for blockchain programmers will grow tremendously.

Any tip or advice to get into blockchain programming from scratch is welcome.

Hello fans of Ivan and cryptos,

I stumbled across Ivan on Tech’s channel when he first started making crypto videos. I had been hunting around for good info for a beginner, and his videos were on the perfect level to bridge the knowledge gap. As a programmer, I was hooked, and have rarely put my head up since.

I’ve been developing my own token based on a misunderstanding I had when I was first introduced to cryptocurrency technology. When describing how mining works, many people would say, “the miner needs to solve a mathematical puzzle.” My first reaction was, 'like an iQ Puzzle? What?"

That was quickly cleared up, but the idea lingered, so now, I have released a token called iQCash. (Website: www.iQCash.net)

Roughly 21 million tokens, how it works is that for every iQ Puzzle solved, 1 iQCash is awarded.
I call it POHW - Proof of Human Work.
There will be 21 rounds.
The first round releases 8 million super easy iQ Puzzles.
Each round will release new puzzles that are twice as hard, but there will be half as many.
(i.e. increasing difficulty, decreasing supply)

Late rounds will be so hard they will start including some previously unsolved mathematical puzzles.

What excites me about the project is the possibility that anyone, even if physically or socio-economically disadvantaged, can start using their brain to earn cryptocash to help their lives.

It’s in presale now on the Waves platform, but I hope you get a chance to check it out when the puzzles go live in December.

Cheers,
Paul Schellens

Realised I never actually introduced myself, I’m Iwan Spillebeen (MultiGhost1970 on YouTube but I don’t post videos), I’m Belgian but have been living and working in Asia for more than 18 years.

I specialise in operations management and software development, been working for various multinationals and SMEs in the travel industry, leasing and finance industry and automotive industry.

I’m currently working for 3 different start-ups:

  • Head of IT for a FinTech (e-wallet / blockchain),
  • Director Investor Relations & Director of Delivery for a startup in recruitment software (AI and Machine learning)
  • and one where we are introducing agile scrum, kanban and nexus principles to the education field (currently working with one school).

I currently live and work in Bangkok, Thailand but have lived and worked in Belgium, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China (Beijing) and Pakistan.

I’m always interested in learning more and applying various principles across industries as well as streamlining processes and creating operational efficiencies.

Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Hi there, I’m Sami from Finland, 40+ and found blockchain around spring 2017 (sounded like an AA meeting, oops…). Ivan’s channel was one of my first good sources of information on BC, so really, thanks once more for a brilliant job.

I work in higher ed, more precisely in the Business and Innovations team in our University of Applied Sciences in health care, social work and education. I have a background in social work as well as religious studies, and I’ve been working with Nepal, India, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Tanzania, Kenya, Swaziland, Ghana, Chile and so on.

I am currently starting my PhD on understanding and learning about Ethereum in a holistic way. This means a) the technology (learn how to code, first JavaScript, then Solidity and smart contracts), b) the economics (cryptoeconomics and entrepreneurship) and c) living and communicating my deeper vision and trying to get it unfold in the context of blockchain. There will be future articles, vlogs, sharing with the community and so on. My Masters’ was on understanding Buddhism and Hinduism through fieldwork in Nepal, so this is a totally new subject. But it came from the heart.

Adopting blockchain in higher ed is also a prominent interest, I’ll be having a keynote on that in a few weeks in Helsinki.

So hoping to learn from this community and maybe to bring something back in return. Anyone anywhere who’s interested to share ideas and be in touch - looking forward!

Hello
I’m Michelle and started following Andreas Antonopoulus on Twitter and then decided to search Youtube and found Ivan’s group. It looks like this is a good place to learn and familiarize myself with prior to making a financial commitment to Bitcoin.
