There is a lot you can do to you protect your Mac. It starts with a firewall, the correct network and privacy settings, the usage of save password, of course an antivirus program plus an anti malware program and the right behavior (like never install anything from untrusted resources). However be aware that in the moment that there is not such thing as a save system. If you want to keep your crypto currencies secure, you will have to save them in a cold storage, e.g. a hardware wallet or paper wallet.

Regarding VPN, I would say if your router software is up to date and your connection is encrypted and secure, router password set to a proper password, it ist not necessary. But in any case that you are using a public WiFi, you should definitely use VPN.

Be careful when using a VPN. Many VPN has malicious intent. Where I live I have more trust in my internet provider then I have in an VPN.

Thanks for a reply. Really appreciate  Have you got any idea which VPN is genuine? What Anti-virus software I should use?

Any suggestions about VPN? Which one is genuine?

It depends on what you want to do with your Mac. Generally speaking, Macs are safe computers, I was just having my general password and I never faced any security issues. However, since I am now using it for accessing my crypto funds, I was worried about phishing mechanisms, so decided to install an anti-virus software. I installed Mcafee, it looks good so far.
