HTML Basics Dicsussion

Hello sir, could you please post your code so we can give it a look to help you?

Remember you can use the “Preformatted Text” Button to encapsulate any kind of code you want to show.

function formatText(){

let words = “I’m a preformatted Text box, Please use me wisely!”

}

If you have any more questions, please let us know so we can help you! :slight_smile:

Are there any benefits like loading time,hosting or servers ? thx

Hi I am after downloading Atom its asking me if i would like to set atom as my default handler to handle Atom//URIs yes / no. Sorry but i have no clue.

Hi Shane, Can you please provide screenshots of the permissions asked by Atom. :slight_smile:

Web pages are first developed then bundled and then hosted on servers of the websites. Whenever a user accesses that website, the bundle gets downloaded and is viewable on the browser.

I am absolutely lost in this part of Ivan’s Academy I managed to fix the first problem but now I don’t know how to run Atom code on HTML I have the code wrote just don’t know how to see it as a website. I’m starting to give up now at this point. Got through the first few courses fine knew this programming would fuck me up.

Hello sir, is your Atom editor running properly? maybe you only need to select the type of code, bottom right corner of Atom windows, left to the github icon.

Remember that you need to save the code files has “index.html” then you locate the file and open it with a browser, you should be able to see how its looks like.

Hope you find this useful.

Hi thanks for your help in my atom I’m missing plain text icon. I only have github HTML UTF-8 or CRLF.

Can you also please follow this instruction by Carloz.

Just go to the “index.html” file on your file explorer and right-click on it to get the “Open With” option. Here choose your browser and you should be able to see the webpage as you designed.

Just finished the Javascript programming course with HTML in the beginning, forgot to make a post here in the beginning but I want to thank the whole academy for a great course and urge people to keep trying even though things might feel long and tricky. Thanks again!

I read the “suggested link” above on the basics of HTML. Was supposed to take part in the conversation here as a bootcamp assignment. I hope this will due.

Hello, Ivan!

I thought about purchasing a hard copy of that book you are requiring for this course from Amazon, but it would take at least eight days to get to me. So I’ll be using the Internet version if that’s okay with you. Depending on where we are in the course, if you say to turn to a specific page in the book, I’ll probably just go to that page on the Web version and/or print it off.

Just something I wanted to share. Thank you!
