Yes, I can totally appreciate that. Hopefully, my post will at least highlight the issue to those starting to learn HTML, and for whom HTML5 is the first version they are working with.

Hi all, about to start this course and am extremely nervous. Am not tech savvy at all when it comes to coding, have never done anything like this in my life.Had a look at the forum and everything so far is just goblede gook to me, so i hope that when Ivan said,“we will learn from Scratch”, that it is from scratch. How to properly install atom.
I opened the atom editor the way it was shown in the video lesson. However, when I close atom editor, I do not find the downloaded version of atom anywhere. When I run the atom executible file, it shows some error. Therefore I have to do the same process again. I can use the atom editor only as long as I do not close the atom editor. Kindly advise.

hello everyone just have a uick question if anyone could help me i have downloaded the atom text editor how ever when i open it on the top right side there is like a warning sign asking if i would like ATOM to handel all the atom url’s what sould i pick of the 4 ??

starting to HATE html whatch to tutorials many time aswell as other on youtube and atleast 5 different sites even some in swedish however i do exactly as you do ivan pretty mutch coping your code still not a singel image will apper what am i doing wrong cant find them help anywhere have been trying for coupel of hours now to get the image to show but it never do why???

Yes I was having a great time and learning lots. Got my first 2 certificates. Blockchain 101and Ethereum . But when it came to the Java Script I lost the plot I am 58 and the math side of things was to hard and I am also a little dyslexic which didn’t help the course. i decided to step back for awhile and re assess. I am not really interested in programming but I get the General idea of how it works. I am more looking to get into the business side and education of Blockchain. So I will re-visit at some point to look at the business course available. Thank you for contacting me. Regards Dietmar

I have several questions. I downloaded the Atom text editor ok but when I went to create the website.html and saved, my whole desktop went to the Project folder in Atom. How do I remove it and save it as a single folder somewhere else or does it not matter?
Also, I followed the instructions to coding my first website but when I went to save it in Atom, a screen did not automatically appear as in the video to open it in Google Chrome or Brave Browser? The video im referencing is : HTML & Web

Installing software is usually pretty straight forward.
I suggest you look at the link below and read how to use the Atom editor.

If you struggle to much with Atom you can use any other text editor that suits you.

Thank You, I was able to install ATOM with no issues, it was after I installed it that I had some differences in setting up the website within it. I figured it out and the issue with Saving my elements was different than in the video I watched, I had to go outside atom and open the website where I saved it on my computer. I was able to realize that by a post from 10 mos ago that someone else experienced. I appreciate your response.

Why can’t you download Atom?
It’s hard to say, I like Atom, others like Visual Studio. But If Atom don’t work for you, I think you should try VS to see if that’s better for you.
You should at least try to install VS and see if you like it.

Yes I have downloaded VS and it seems ok
Atom seemed to make my computer run slow , and icon didn’t appear on screen , had to open it through downloads , it was all a bit time consuming

It usually means that it can’t locate the image. Did you spell something wrong maybe?
Can you post the code you used? It’s easier to see the issue.
