Hi, I have some basic questions who are keeping me up and are rather stupid but are driving me crazy for the last 2 hours :
On Windows ,When opening Atom , the file , save etc , boxes are not there anymore : anybody know whow to set them up again.
When Ivan in HTLM basic saves

, rather then get the line I get the whole page .I have tried it on MAC and its the same result .
Anyone else coming straight off the Defi101 course?

Hi, I am an absolute beginner and Ivan does a very good job as I understood the logic of HTLM . On a pratical point of view is there any difference in browsers: I use currently BRAVE , but I see on the video’s that the most used browser is Google Crome or Firefox . Also is there any difference of use between MAC and Windows . Would be very nice to have some comments

I have been trying to install Atom on Window 10. I have read various instructions, seen video’s etc. Atom installs bu the tabs on the editor on the upper left side were you normally have the commands like save, save as, do not appear. I have tried dinstalling and installing again, no avail. As far as I can see the installation is correct Does anyone have an answer. Thanks a lot in advance

Well, Chrome and Firefox are the universal browsers used for developing websites. They have excellent set of features in their developer settings. Most of the developers use these two.
Brave on the other hand , is used when you are browsing and you do not want to compromise privacy or want to get rid of all sorts of ads.
Regarding the Atom Editor issue, could you please share screenshots so that we can support you directly.

Hi Malik, I appreciate the help because I have spend a few hours trying to figure this out. . I have uninstalled and installed again, nothing seems to work. I used windows 7 for a very long time and am not used to window 10 , but I don’t think that’s the problem

Hi, for anyone that this might be helpful …I could not get Atom to open on my MacBookPro …tried several times with no luck. I’m now using Virtual Studio Code. It has an Atom keymap extension and has been working great so far to follow along with the lessons. I’m using Chrome browser.
Hey @mountainvalue, Apologies for the late response. Missed out your post 
. You could just click the “Alt” button on the keyboard. Perhaps you have the auto hide feature enabled on Atom.
@SADemo, Visual Studio is even more popular compared to Atom. You could use that as well without any hiccups

I have Atom and when I put in the code it looks nothing like Ivan there is no highlighted words and when I save it it is not opening what am I doing wrong I have uninstalled and installed is there any settings I need to be made aware of?

You probably missed out the extension in the file name, for example - myfile.html . Could you provide screenshots so that we can evaluate what is happening?

I thought I would pop in in as a first time user of programming it was so frustrating not understanding why I could not even get my program to show up live, then I worked out, it went to my brave browser, and that is after two days, I am not sure about the rest of you, I purchased the eloquent java script book to read, so far the only thing that stuck in my head is rabbit and squirrel, but as time goes on, I am slowly making sense of small things I encounter, which means I have a long way to go, on my journey to full time programming, I will not give up and want to thank you all for the help along the way.
