Proposal #76: Parachain Lease Offering Dashboard

A proposal to provide a parachain lease offering dashboard so users have easy access to kusama’s parachain slot auctions anytime and anywhere.

I really see an adaptation of the uses of the network to a higher level in this project.
Experimenting with a speech interactive NFT project on Kusama.

WordToWorld is an educational game for children and 1001 is an NFT project for us crypto users.
Speech interactive: let a bird fly just by saying “The bird is flying!”, 1001 visualize a dynamic world according to users’ spoken words.
Composable NFT story: NFTs from different networks could be integrated together into one story, the story itself as grouped NFTs could be used in multiple DeFi cases like lending, staking, or as an IDO permission.

Bounty proposal 4:

Easy to grasp proposal. Simply an app to notify council members that their vote is needed. The app would read from the chain.

#76 Proposal: Parachain Lease Offering Dashboard

Description

Parachain Lease Offering (a.k.a PLO) is a new mechanism to achieve high security and interoperability for the Kusama blockchain network. Currently, some projects launched with different strategies. Many people would consider participating in parachain auctions in a meaningful way.

HashQuark would like to provide a PLO dashboard to follow up on the status of the parachain slot and auction situation, so that people can all easily get this information at any time, anywhere.

#4 Bounty Proposal
Finding better ways to communicate with the council and technical committee members. The app would monitor for on chain calls and notify the council members when they need to review and vote. This will hopefully reduce turnaround time for change, especially emergency changes.

Proposal # 11 => has become referendum # 18 (neither is titled)

Transfer 56.4k DOT from wallet A to wallet B (not the actual title but this is what the proposal was)

https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/proposal/11

https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referendum/18

This proposal and referendum might be a scam (maybe someone reading this knows more about this story) but the story behind it might also be true! Nevertheless, I find it very interesting that this proposal and referendum was made and discussed by the community because it strongly violates the idea of a decentralized network. The corresponding community discussion reflects that the majority of people was indeed skeptical about this initiative.

The story behind the proposal:

The initiator of this proposal claims to have purchases appr. 56.4k DOT on an exchange. He then created a Polkawallet and transferred the funds to this wallet. However, instead of writing down the seed phrase of his wallet, he saved the wallet’s private key on another app. This app crashed and the private key was gone and he didn’t receive helpful support from the corresponding app provider (where he stored his private key) to help to retrieve the stored private key. Please put a “he claims / supposedly / etc.” in front of any statement made in the section above because I cannot verify whether anything of this is actually true.

The actual proposal and referendum was to transfer 56.4k DOT from one wallet (wallet A) to another wallet (wallet B) in order to recover the funds of the person who claims to have lost the private key of the wallet containing the 56.4k DOT (wallet A). Obviously, I didn’t select this proposal because it contained innovative features or anything like that. Instead, I selected it because it discussed the violation of a key concept of a decentralized network, namely transferring an amount of funds from a wallet without proving authenticity through the signature of the private key.

Maybe it was a scam after all, but as I said before, I found the evolving discussion around it quite interesting and it is also a reminder that using decentralized systems comes with a higher level of freedom but also requires a higher level of responsibility and accountability by the individual user.

Proposal: NFT Registrar: an anti-plagiarism registrar.

The project aims to combat NFT plagiarism by adding a new Registrar run by RMRK 4/6 Multisig. First the application minter will register himself via UI, after there would be a verification process that will ensure all the information of the applicant like ID, social media ownership etc are real. Once the applicant has been verified he will earn a green checkmark and a KnownGood Minter. If a KnownGood minter breaks the T&C of any implementation, his status will be invalidated.

76 Proposal: Parachain Lease Offering Dashboard

I think this is a good project on the basis that it aims to provide high security and high interoperability for the Kusama network which I call the testnet to test your projects. I think the project structure is of a professional standard. with its proposals and data. It also has an realistic timeline for developing its dashboard and user interface.

I think the reason to implement this PLO proposal is sound as a dashboard for over time earnings overview would not harm the ecosystem and provide a better UX which can very much be used in the polkadot/kusama ecosystem. Additionally the Parachain Lease Offering provides projects with a decreased initial funding requirement although I would only have this implemented on Kusama as it’s the public testnet token which is deployed. No reason to implement it immediately on Polkadot.

#94 Proposal to expand the Polkadot ecosystem with a book for blockchain beginners

16th June 2021

Requested DOT: 1,978 DOT (in 3 installments @ $25.27/DOT using Subscan’s 30 day EMA) = ~$50,000

Short description: There are many books on ETH, but none on P-dot. Proposed was to write book o P- dot, but it was denied. There is a the lack of info and easy to understand explanation of P-dot in book form as of now.

It would be nice to break through the mystery of it, eh? No, not so…

Another issue is that its a fast growing protocol so a lot of stuff might change in the future which would make the book obsolete.

1 - Pick a proposal on Polkassembly (for either Polkadot or Kusama) and write a short summary of it.

107 Treasury proposal: The 2021 / 9-2022 / 2 operating cost for the nonprofit organization Polkadot Ecology Research Institute

This is a kind of decentralized foundation without legal status providing access to the dissemination, popularization and learning of the operation of the technology that the Polkadot blockchain represents to a Chinese population.

The goal being to renew the financing previously acquired by this cash proposal from September 2021 to February 2022, therefore 6 months instead of three previously which went to June to August 2021. It estimates its needs at 86,250 dollars and specifies the report of the are in dollars at the unit cost of a Dot.

What we little considered as a relay of the foundation polkadot in view of the previous partnership also aims to promote its ecological aspect, i.e. tried to access possible strategic blockchain partnerships within the framework of projects focused on ecology.

It is marketing as well as the dissemination of tek polkadot requiring the highlighting of its ecological potential, Proof of Stake but above all the desire to create partnerships with other blockchain players located in China on ecological projects. It is specified that they had interventions in the breasts of various television media and other meetings with other actors.

Undoubtedly these partnerships seem possible thanks to Chinese subsidies given to the actors of the Blockchain sector of their territory for ecological projects in the perspective of its ecological global commitment for 2050-2060.

This proposal was posted 4 days and 17 hours ago and it is 09/07/2021 2:29 AM in France or 12:29 UTC.

It is therefore still subject to its voting time, namely 7 days on Polkadot. To be approved, executed and finalized or rejected by the Polkadot treasury.

Hey @Alko89,

The link to polkassembly is dead. Thing you need to have the subdomain for it to return.
Actually link to Polkadot Polkassembly: https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/

On the Kusama Network, for Referendum #133:
https://kusama.polkassembly.io/referendum/133

We have an instance where the proposer believes that a recently passed proposal (#129: https://kusama.polkassembly.io/referendum/129) could introduce a technical bug which could result in the loss of funds.

With the passing of the #129 proposal, it meant that XCM messages could exceed the ump_service_total_weight as the limit had reduced from 100_000_000_000 to 5_000_000_000.

As a response from one of the comments, it seems as though the proposer has mis-identified the introduction of the bug, and has since had the Technical Committee look into it.

The proposal has a heavy bias toward nay, with
Aye: 52.27KSM
Nay: 4,786KSM

At this point, it looks as it the proposal to increase the UMP weight will fail.
