  1. Why is Freedom important?

Freedom is important because it is an important component in order to enable innovation, efficiency, and ownership.

  1. What is required in order to have freedom at the workplace?

In order to have freedom in the workplace, both trust and talent density is needed. An ongoing effort both from the team members and also from the company. If a company provides an environment of trust and empowerment, then employees have to maintain it and continue to earn it by their actions and results.

  1. How does Moralis work with freedom?

Since at Moralis the most important thing is Results, the company works with freedom by creating an environment of trust between the team members, where we know we’re all working on doing our best to drive Moralis forward and by being transparent and sharing all the information about our projects and the company with one another. We’re all a manager of one, which means that each of us is responsible for the work that we do and how we do it.

  1. Do you have your own ideas on how an organization can work with freedom outside of what’s mentioned in the Moralis Handbook?

Besides the flexibility in work hours, decision-making and transparency, I think companies could give team members:

  • Freedom to decide what projects to work on.

  • Freedom to choose what, how and from whom to learn.

  • Recognition when they are self-sufficient and efficient.

  1. Why is Responsibility important?

Responsibility is important because it is probably the most essential factor in preserving the freedom across teams and the workflow in a company.

  1. Is failure accepted at Moralis?

Failure is most definitely accepted at Moralis because it means that we’re trying to find new ways to do things (being innovative), and that’s also how we learn.

" I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work." -Thomas A. Edison

  1. Give some examples of what’s not accepted at Moralis.

At Moralis it is NOT accepted:

  • To do things that are not in the best interest of Moralis like sharing info with people who do not work at Moralis.

  • To break or take advantage of the trust we are given. For example, if we misuse the lack of oversight and simply don’t do anything or just the bare minimum with our time.

  • To stop pushing the wagon aka to wait for someone to assign a task to us when we’re done with our to-do list without taking the initiative to do something else next.

  4. The Moralis handbook is a wonderful guideline for establishing the cornerstones of “working with freedom” , I believe it fully encompasses and displays what that means. With that being said, there is always room for improvement and in the future there may be other principles discovered that closely align with working freely.

  5. Without a sense of responsibility Moralis will most definitely crumble and fail, everyone must not only take responsibility for their actions but also be a responsible member of the organization so that it will continue to succeed and thrive.

  6. Failure is accepted and encouraged, without it we will never learn.

  7. Doing things that are not in the best interest of Moralis. Sharing sensitive data with competitors, taking the day off because you finished a task early or not producing your best quality or work.
