Ethereum Advanced

I’ve taken courses on other programs but Ivan has a more personal method of explaining so it feels like a one on one. Plus I can take the courses at my own pace. I’m gaining a better understanding of ethereum already on this course than from others and look forward to the rest of this topic.

With accreditation comes extra fees and also sometimes conflict as to way things are taught.
In the debate of formal learning and informal learning, I can say with total confidence that it is the learning that matters.

I appreciate finding out various perspectives on this topic, however.

What do you guys think of the Fungible aspect of ETH? when compared to the Non-fungible aspect of BTC I personally think that this is a good thing as it reminds me of cash (we don’t know where that cash has been but should always be worth the same no matter what)

Would like to hear all your opinions on this?

Is Ethereum less secure due to the account model?

There are definitely pros and cons to privacy of transaction history. I guess it depends on which side of the transaction you’re on.

Does anyone have a link to an easy tutorial on how the new remix works? I am doing the create a token assignment and the old one looks like it will be replaced soon.

I am having a hard time duplicating. It seems that something has been updated and maybe in a different place now. I am trying to create the token now, and the address does not show like it did for Ivan in his tutorial: Screenshot 2021-06-06 163140

I found this tutorial (May 25). https://www.quicknode.com/guides/solidity/how-to-create-and-deploy-an-erc20-token

armrtoken

It seems they called it etherium because it is meant connect everything in the crypto universe.

Hey @dhill27103, hope you are ok.

Did you manage to deploy the contract? which address are you waiting for? the contract address?

Although the remix interface change a little bit, the left menu is the same from the videos, and the procedure to compile and deploy contracts is the same.

I did manage to deploy. Thank you for checking. I figured it out, and used the new interface.

Hey @salvatorev, hope you are well.

You should start with Javascript first, is the programming language that you must know in order to program later in solidity (Ethereum Smart Contracts Programming courses).

Hello guys…I started in the academy aprox 2 weeks ago. I really enjoyed every lesson until now and I can say that I already learned a lot. Very easy to understand. My main goal is to become a defi expert. I would like to know if after Ethereum 101 course should I learn Java programming or Defi course .I want to mention that I have 0 knowledge in programming

Hey @Emerik, hope you are well.

Glad to know that you are enjoying and learning a lot with our lovely Academy.

I would suggest your to go first with our Javascript programming course, after that one you should go with Ethereum Smart Contracts Programming 101 & 201, after those, DeFi 101 & 201 will have a lot of sense and information easy to digest for you.

I’m trying to understand what “fungible and non-fungible” really means in the context of crypto/blockchain. I tried a cursory search on google and what I found didn’t make it more clear. Does anybody have a link to a simple, clear, concise explanation of these terms? Thanks in advance.
