Difference between CryptoPub and BitcoinPub

Hello everyone,

I’ve been using TheBitcoinPub forum for a while, and I’d like to know what’s the purpose of this one: is this a more tech-oriented forum, or is it just a way to create a “different” community based on the Ivan on tech youtube channel community, with the same degree of different topics?
I’m just curious, because I think that a parallel community might be a good thing, even though the platform is basically the same and a good part of the community is the same (people in cryptos that follow some youtuber).

Hey! This is primarily a place for our current Ivan on Tech community to migrate to. We’ve been using Slack for months, but Slack turned out to be a bad choice as a community platform. My videos and community are generally more tech oriented compared to other crypto youtubers, more in depth tech interest. I think BitcoinPub is awesome and we have our different places in the same ecosystem

Thanks for the reply! I hope this community grows well in the next month, because I think that a more tech oriented forum is needed… In the meantime I think I’ll be putting a couple of post I made on the other forum here in the technical analysis section, since I think they might be usefull for beginners that are looking forward to both undestand the technology and invest in it.

P.S. may I suggest to change that $ in the logo with a Bitcoin symbol? You’re going to scare away the “fk the system” guys this way

I have been an early member of the BitcoinPub and like it! I have also followed Ivan on Tech and really liked his insight and content. I agree that the Crypto Pub is a good thing as it is expanding the crypto community in whole.
I like to learn and I follow several crypto YouTubers . They may cover the same crypto, but I still like to hear their unique perspective and thoughts. I think it’s great that we now internet communities led by Peter and Ivan. It’s a win-win for us all!

I’m also a regular to the bitcoin pub, but i would say it is more driven by the investment side of the industry rather than the technical side, and as I don’t really know much about that, Ivan’s tech videos have been far more useful to me as a dev, but any resources are useful, and very welcome.

Could you elaborate why slack did not work out as expected? I have been a great fan of slack in my startups, would be interested how you made the decision to migrate. Looking forward to getting involved with CryptoPub (plus: see you at the Block Show Asia, line-up is fantastic)

Slack is perfect if you trust every user that joins, however Slack is terrible for open communities, especially in the crypto space. Scammers are free to build bots and send phising messages to member pretending to be me or some crypto project. You as the community manager cannot do anything and are completely helpless. As an open community we needed a platform with better community management tools  Awesome see you in person this month then! https://btcmanager.com/crypto-scammers-infiltrate-slack-communities-aragon-responds/

This type of website layout was not created by Peter btw. You can download it for free in the internet, open source.

@Hans - do you have a specific github url?

I am hoping we can spread the word about this forum as Bitcoin Pub has been taken over by teenagers and all the “To The Moon” “Lambo” bullshit.

Yes, I’ve joined systems like this before, most recognisably by the onboarding you get from @discobot.

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.

Learned something new today. I thought him and John came up with it.
