DeFi Ecosystem - Discussion

so true! i got an airdrop yesterday , i just made 1 swap some days ago of more than 20$ and received 600+ 1inch tokens , which would be around 1k € amazing.

Thanks a lot to @ivan for the tips and recommendations

CyberFi looks quite interesting as it automates a lot of cool DeFi features.

There are a lot of really good Defi projects in the Ethereum network.

I’d like to share/add defi projects from Tezos ecosystem.

Dexter - a decentralized exchange from the Tezos ecosystem.
Wrap Protocol - a bridge between Ethereum and Tezos and allows users to migrate their ERC20 tokens to FA1.2 tokens
Harbinger - Oracle in tezos platform
Kolibri - tezos stable coin
DAOBaker - allow users to stake their XTZ upto 25% APY

i found the topic of the no risk lending “game” and the fact that you won when you were recording awesome! I saw Ivan discussing a lending arrangements where VISA was using Crypto as collateral and want to learn more about that
My interest favors the insurance DAPps yet also where traditional industry may also be exploring with such DApp with any potential success. Does anyone see partnership between DAPPS and Traditional Decentralized Insurance DApps?
I find it fascinating how tie smart insurance contract between 2-trustless parties, yet fraud prevention, claim processing can be assured, even when trust can not.

Grap.Finance, Check them out! They covered Cover protocols ass today lol

Flexa is a payment network that enables merchants to accept digital currencies without the risk of fraud or volatility through off-chain collateralization.
very interesting… I feel that projects like this are important in driving adoption.

The Defi ecosystem is pretty big and hard to wrap my head around. I was wondering what’s the point of lending crypto when you can just go and buy crypto/coins. Do people do this only because they do not have enough money to buy a coin? I’m not understanding the lending and borrowing aspect of the blockchain.

I think it helps to look at what individuals and businesses already do with traditional finance. Say Bob wants to start a business or invest in something. It’s very likely that he will take out a loan and use those funds as an investment while accruing interest charges. The hope for bob is that by the end of his loan, he has made a return higher than the interest he is charged.

DeFi allows anyone to do this without going through a trust based system. Instead of depositing your fiat currency into a bank which loans it to people taking out loans; You can use DeFi to do the same thing but in a trustless manor. There is an incentive to lock up your Dai as a lender because the interest rates are higher than of traditional finance (interest earned is less than inflation rate in most cases. Meaning you practically lose money by parking it in the bank.)

This is my understanding of why someone would lend or borrow through DeFi. Anyone else have thoughts?

I would love to see MahaDAO included in your course!

Great topic! Might be an idea to have a DeFi topic on insurance.

I would say covering a decentralized exchange like Uniswap in the overview, but I see that is in a future video.

Metronome.
aims to create a protocol that can transfer value not just inside of a single blockchain, but also across different blockchains. Enhancing the decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies, the governance and community of Metronome will be open-source and autonomous.

Metronome supports advanced payment features, such as Mass Pay, an option that allows users to transfer the token MET to multiple addresses in a single transaction. This saves money on fees. Blockchains come and go, but Metronome has set its sights on longevity through deepening decentralization, bringing the benefits of multiple blockchains together, and building on the transaction abilities that users already enjoy with cryptocurrencies.

if I remove my wallet with funds on it they will be lost right?

I’m very interested in understanding more about how to create financial lego dapps

DeFi Ecosystem - Discussion

Hello Amadeo,

StableCredit is an upcoming project by yearn.finance.

I hope this is worthy of adding to future DeFi overview!

G.

Hi Amadeo,

I think Injective Protocol it’s an interesting project
https://injectiveprotocol.com/

" Injective Protocol, a fully decentralized Layer-2 DeFi protocol.
A robust, highly parameterizable DeFi protocol supporting a diverse array of derivatives including CFDs, perpetual swaps and more"

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/injective-protocol

Hello. Thank you for the explanations. What do you think about yearn.finance (YFI)?

This seems to be very promising.

Let’s go with Polkadot. Seems like the next big thing in DeFi…namely working with Polkastarter.

I think that Perlinx is worth a look. It’s in the derivatives category on the Ethereum stack. I was considering mentioning DeFiner, but documentation seems incomplete at the current point in time.

I think Duck Dao is a good project for the future of DeFi and other incubation projects.
