What’s up guys, I’m currently going through Ivan’s course and am curious what the next step would be after finishing the course. As far as working in the blockchain space. Where does one get their first “job” as a programmer?
Good question, I am also curious to know what the answer is.
I am following this thread. I am new and would like to know this as well. I still have a lot to learn.
Hi guys, I have been following Ivan’s channel for a few months now. From what I understand, once we successfully complete the course we’ll have the necessary knowledge, tools and skills to write some code and publish it on GitHub for example. We may collaborate with the people we’ll meet in the course, or maybe with other people to create some projects.
After that when we apply for positions advertised in the crypto space, we can share links to the works we have published or contributed work toward.
There are some websites specialised in crypto-related jobs like crypto.jobs for example
One good source would be this forum in and off itself.
My company sometimes looks for additional developers (depends on the projects) and I’m sure there are others in the 1,500+ people on here that are in a similar situation. if we have such a need I’ll make sure that it is posted on here for all to see, working remotely is perfectly acceptable in those cases.
Alternatively, or rather simultaneously, some of the members could collaborate on a simple project and publish this on GitHub to show of their awesome new skills and to start building out a reputation.
There are also others on here that are building blockchain solutions as part of their capstone project, they may be quite open to opportunities to collaborate on such a project. One example you can find here: https://forum.toshitimes.com/t/2-month-blockchain-project-ideas/4482/5
Awesome! Thanks, for the info. I’m excited to see what this community produces!
It was a year ago since this thread have been created. Any new updates on how to get a job in blockchain world? I also wanted to know. I am a material scientist turned to blockchain student and currently I am going through Ivan´s courses (Smart contract, deep understanding, etc).
And I live in Bayern Germany. I would love to collaborate with the community too.
@Mauro I noticed you’ve been around for about a year, have you had any luck finding work? What has your experience been?
I’ve been following crypto since 2015 or so, and I just started the programming course, so I’m curious how you’ve fared this past year.
@Dimas I honestly don’t know how to get a job in this space I’m involved in a project though which is why I am taking this class. I’d love to chat with you about it, because I think it is a project with so much potential. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want to know more:smile:
Hey. I have been registered here for a year but I only now just finished my college. I am 21 years old btw. Currently starting to get back into javascript as I haven’t been able to do it during my college. I would suggest that keep posting here on forums and show your learning progress. That way we have something to show when applying somewhere either locally or online. Atleast that’s how I plan on doing it. maybe make some program and share it here on the forums for others to see. Anyway good luck. Sorry I couldn’t help out too much.
Congratulations on graduating college! That is such an achievement
What did you study at College? Do you feel like it really helped prepare you for the workplace?
I studied navigation at sea (nautica). I think it did a great job in preparing me for such a job but I kinda changed my mind in what I want to do in my life. When I found out about crypto, in the late 2017, I was very curious on how it worked and why so many people wanted to invested in such an unknown field. Since then I have been watching Ivan and learning about blockchain a lot. I read the famous book “The Internet of Money by Andreas” (highly recommeneded if you are still new in bitcoin and crypto). All in all, I always loved computer and technology. I know about computers in general so I decided to learn some programming alongside with this crazy crypto revolution. Definitely an exciting time to be alive.
