Incredible tracing abilities which will serve so many industries worldwide, such as the food industry or medicines… where before mistakes, losses could occur or stolen goods were untraceable, now with the blockchain they are traceable and the origination of them and where they go who has them now etc. is traceable. Very helpful.

I also believe that Blockchain will change the world. Ideally, the world will become more sustainable and honest. Perhaps economic scandals such as the manipulation of exhaust emission values by car manufacturers one day will be a thing of the past.
I am convinced that Blockchain will make people less externally controlled.
Education, environmental protection, consumer protection, politics, trade and the way we work, communicate and live will be massively changed on the one hand by Blockchain and on the other hand by use of AI.

Immutable, secure, decentralized and everyone can do trustless transaction everywhere(possibly out of this world if we successfully colonize Mars). For me the biggest benefit in this technology is financial empowerment for the masses. Finally, we have an avenue to get rid of this inefficient and corrupt banking institutions.

In my Opinion blockchain is a technical development / revolution that will change in many many if not all existing fields. Money was just the beginning. The world will be even more connected. Unlimited possibilities for Industries but also for consumers or builders. Who would have thought that you can own digital properties, can store value without a safe or a bank account 15 years ago. Investing in great ideas became so much easier. The best thing about blockchain is that it is still in early stages and we can all be part of this and have the chance to use it to create something great.

How can physical objects (in case of supply chains) be tracked with blockchain?
Bitcoin doesn’t track physical objects. There are companies that tackle these issues, one of them is Origin Trail. I encourage you you contact them and find out

You can use qr codes or nfc technology on the goods. Wich will write to the blockchain when it exchanges hands and extra information in the proces. In Belgium, Carrefour is experimenting with supply chain for chickens. I’m not sure, but I think they use hyperledger for it. But there is always room for manipulation, but in the way the current system works, you don’t have any reliable provenance in the supply chain.
To connect the real world to the digital world, you need some kind of oracles. Wich is hard to do in a trustless way

What I do not understand is, even if Carrefour is using the blockchain technology, the datas are still centralized and can be changed or deleted. Which is probably also important for a company, as if there are human mistakes within the Supply Chain process (Scanning the wrong QR code or sending it to the wrong location) they need to correct it in the database.
A real decentralized Blockchain in this case, is most likely too expensive and a company looses the control over their processes.
So where is the benefit to use a Blockchain, if its still not fully transparent and trustful?
To connect the physical world and the digital world always has a centralized component. But for example in hyperledger, a consortium of companies can use this technology where you eliminate multiple digital silo’s and have 1 common ‘blockchain’ (database) with certain consensus rules. It can eliminate many problems that the current system has. (where each step has separate ways of working)
So in each step you have less room for errors and all parties can check in real time what happened with certain goods. Chainlink for example has a way to connect the real world on the blockchain by playing with financial incentives to tell the truth about a certain event.
Anyway, with blockchain technology, we can work way more effecient than the current way of working.
