In FIAT currency it is possible to print more money.
How do we know that more bitcoin will not be produced?
You could produce more bitcoin code, or could you try to reproduce more code?
Is it possible to make counterfeit bitcoin in the same way that it is possible to make counterfeit money?
After all, Bitcoin is compared to gold, which is a limited resource.
But nobody can actually quantify the actual amount of Gold there is in the World.
It is unknown.

As far as I know no more than 21,000,000 can be produced as that is set to be the top amount on it on Satoshi’s Bitcoin Whitepaper.
More Bitcoin code can be produced but not to increase or decrease the supply of it long-term. The network would collapse or be severely damaged at least short-term if attempting to do a 51% attack to modify such thing?
One can, of course, sell the idea of bitcoin that does not exist for fiat money or other things with intrinsic or agreed value on an internet interface but not real bitcoin that can be verified with the Bitcoin network code.
