Thanks for showcasing the composer playground. It looks quite a bit fun and I was hoping to get into it and play around but when I searched online what I found I couldn’t get into because it’s looking for Ubuntu or Mac, neither which I have. What solution do you recommend (other than go buy a mac). Thanks.

for students, that don’t want to go the developer route, maybe the administrator one would be a great addition to the academy, i.e. Hyperledger Fabric Adminstrator , Linux-SystemAdmin, or NodeOperator (for people who want to gain expertise in running, blockchain nodes, virtual servers, validators on linux-systems) and mostly “Blockchain infrastructure specialist” (Linux, managing virtual or physical IT infrastructure, wworking with hyper-scale cloud providers like MS Azure or AWS)

Hello miss, sadly the playground has been deprecated long time ago, we are already working in a new solution for that issue, but for now you could probably watch some videos on youtube to have a better understanding on how that playground worked.

at least Fillip should mention that on the description of the video that the playground link is not working anymore and we should look for some YouTube videos, i spend a long time trying to find where is the issue and why doesn` t want to connect.

Hello sir, yes the actual course is not completely updated for today, in a future we will update this course in order to have get more modern tools for this issue, for now you could only read the post above your 2 replies to give you a better understanding on that deprecated tool.

Hi guys! I am wondering why values such as ParticipantID (=pure number) are defined as string and not as integer (or similar). In the programming courses lightyears ago I learned to choose always the right datatype, but maybe there is a concrete reason for this choice in Composer?
My knowledge is very limited, but I do know I use a Windows machine. I do not use Linux nor macOS…

It looks like it’s a very old version. They have a 2.x series, but it was discontinued, so it’s recommended to use 1.4.x:

You can also install Linux on windows if interested:
I haven’t done much with this yet, but I’m digging into this myself to see if there’s any sort of workaround. I’ll try at some point later whatever latest release of composer they have here:

Also, if having a GUI (graphical user interface) on Linux is a must, you can try installing Linux as a VM (virtual machine). You may have to enable Intel VT-x or AMD-V in your computer’s BIOS for this to work.
Too bad the browser version is no longer available (404) 
I have got this this part of the course too late as well. 
Other than that the whole course as a whole has been interesting!
