Homework on Ethereum Intro

  1. The first version of the web that enabled static sites with text, images and links.
  2. A sc is a program made in Solidity with instructions that can hold and distribute money/value exchange on the public Ethereum blockchain.
  3. Anyone can see all txs on the public blockchain and read/examine all smart contracts.

  1. What was Web 1.0?
Web 1.0 was a static site that only hosted text, images and links

  2. What is a smart contract?
Smart contracts are small pieces of code that run on the Ethereum blockchain.

  3. How is transparency achieved with ethereum code?
Smart contracts are created using Solidity, Solidity programme is completely unstoppable as well as all transactions visable.

  1. Web 1.0 was static websites that could only show texts, images and links

  2. Smart contarcts are small pices of code that run on the ethereum network, these codes are conducted by a prorgram called solidity.

  3. Everyone can see what is happening on the smart contract which makes it completely transparent which ever way it has been programmed. It cannot be changed or altered in any way

  1. Web 1.0 was the very early implementation of the internet where websites had very basic use cases:
  • Simple websites with basic images, text and info etc.
  1. A smart contract is a program that is executed on the Ethereum blockchain using the programing language of Solidity.

Examples of smart contracts are:
Lending platforms - where both the lender and borrower don’t need to trust each other, then can simply verify the code of the contract
Trading platforms - where both the buyer and selling of a token or asset can trade trustlessly with each other.

  1. Transparency is achieved with Ethereum code because everyone can see and read what’s written on the blockchain. Soon we will have the ability to vote on the blockchain where everyone in the world can see the actual outcome of the vote. Another example is with government housing waiting lines. With Ethereum and smart contacts no one can skip the line, everyone must wait their turn and everyone can now see that the system is one that is fair and not being cheated etc. It also helps to remove the so called " Middle man" as smart contracts can do tasks that were once done by middle man.

1. What was Web 1.0?
A: Web 1.0 was the first version of the internet that was rudimentary by today’s standard. It only allowed for linking, displaying text and pictures. It was static in nature.

2. What is a smart contract?
A: A smart contract is a piece of code written in Solidity that cannot be changed once created and executes when its terms are fulfilled. It allows for money and assets to be programmed.

3. How is transparency achieved with ethereum code?
A: The contract is visible on a blockchain explorer like etherscan.io so that others can see what will happen or if it has executed.

  1. What was Web 1.0?

A) Web 1.0 is the following

Read and share

Static

Text images and links

  1. What is a smart contract?

A) A Smart contract is are small pieces of code which execute based on its rules/conditions

  1. How is transparency achieved with ethereum code?

A)Removes the middleman, trusting the technology

Allows everyone to see what is happening on the chain so everyone is on the same page

  1. What was Web 1.0? Web 1.0 were the early web pages that looked like magazine pages with no moving content, with just text, images and hyperlinks with no moving content.

  2. **What is a smart contract? Smart contract can message but also can be contract that is program to react when a set of pre-program conditions are meet, these smart contract and condition are immutable.

  3. **How is transparency achieved with ethereum code? Because the Ethereum messages and smart contract are securer on the Ethereum’s decentralised (blockchain) network and as the smart contract are immutable, they are available to view at http://etherscan.io This is a window on the Ethereum network open to all.

  1. Web 1.0 is the early internet, where there was no possible interaction between the user of a web page, and the page itself. Users could only interact with what they seen and use links… This changed with the introduction of JavaScript when pages were created to be interactive. This led to the creation of Web 2.
2.A smart contract or a self executing contract on the Ethereum blockchain, without the need of any third party executors or a notary. Essentially Smart Contracts are small pieces of codes; Ethereum’s coding language is Solidity and it is used to write Smart Contracts that are the logic that runs Programs/Dapps.
  2. Transparency is achieved with the etherium code by encryptions. Ethereum developers have released a product that will provide better transparency of transactions and enable regular persons to create smart contracts. This transparency will allow regular individuals to be able to create their own smart contracts.

  1. Web 1.0 are websites that allow users to read content only.
  2. A smart contract is deployed on the Ethereum network. Smart contracts are executed on the blockchain. Solidity is the programming language used.
  3. Transparency is achieved because smart contract code can be publicly viewed.

  1. What was Web 1.0?
It was static, texts, images and links. Not Dynamic.

  2. What is a smart contract?
Its a small piece of code. In Ethreum program is called Solidity.

    1. How is transparency achieved with ethereum code?
All the data is transparent and available to be traced by anybody but the confidentiality can be achieved by Encryption.

1, Web1.0 was the beginning of the World Wide Web and only facilitated the transfer of documents and files (i.e. no scripting and interactivity etc).

2, A smart contact is a piece of code that can be baked into the blockchain and will remain immutable and active for ever more. The smat contract can receive and send money based on programmed logic.

3, The Ethereum blockchain (BC) is public and open. Smart contracts and transactions stored immutably on the BC and are auditable by anybody at any time.

2. A smart contract is a small piece of code which works on Ethereum.
3.Everyone can see and check the code. If someone want to change it, it will make a chain invalid.

  1. What was Web 1.0?
Web 1.0 was basically the “pre-javascript” internet. Only text, links, images. very simple, nothing fancy.

  2. What is a smart contract?
A smart contract is a program that is deployed on the blockchain. It is basically a programmable transaction.

  3. How is transparency achieved with ethereum code?
As I understand it, transparency is achieved by everybody being able to see the content of the contract. Also by the open-source nature of blockchain. Trust is inherent with mining/proof of work.

1. What was Web 1.0?

  • In the infancy of the internet, the website that were built were static in nature for e,g having images, text or links not too dynamic

2. What is a smart contract?

  • Smart contract is a piece of code on the blockchain that has a specific function or task it performs when executed. Smart Contract when deployed cannot be altered or removed from the blockchain.

3. How is transparency achieved with ethereum code?

  • Ethereum is a decentralized blockchain and all the smart contracts on the blockchain are publicly available for everyone on the network to view. Just like bitcoin, when transactions are complete it cannot be altered or removed from the system
