Hi guys, so let me get this straight:
The dividing of ETC (Ethereum classic) vs ETH (Ethereum) is the result of the hard fork that was initiated because of the DAO attack and they wanted to pay back the stolen DAO in the new ETH that was emerging from the hard fork.
So ETC is the original and ETH is the new, upgraded one with larger community, market cap, volume (though not immutable as ETC)

I havenā€™t fulfilled the Ethereum course, this is just a topic I read for myself. I was initially confused by Ether and ethereum classic but ASAIU they are the same.
Please correct or feel free to fill in if I might have misunderstood anything. Or move the post if it belongs to another thread

Iā€™m just hungry for more knowledge ā€¦ Let do this

By the way my name is Gonzalo and living in the UK for now.

abbreviation i guess

I thought that as well but there are people who are more knowledgeable than me saying not to get them mixed up so its a mystery.

Hi Guys, just to confirm, I am having a ball, how about you lotā€¦!?

Quick question. Ivan mentioned that once the money goes into a smart contract it can not be retrieved by the sender, which ultimately ensures that no one is cheated out of their money. However, if letā€™s say the so called kid who will get paid upon receiving good grades, dies, or never ends up receiving other than Fs; there needs to be a way to retrieve that money or cancel that contract. Isnā€™t there?

what is the situation with the total supply of ether coins and why is there not a limit set on it?

Everythingā€™s all good here at the moment!

They are not ā€œthe sameā€ though theyā€™re the same?
You canā€™t use them interchangeably.

This article discusses the same issues, but with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
It may not be exactly the same on the Ethereum blockchain, as
wallets work a little differently blockchain to blockchain.

https://support.freewallet.org/support/solutions/articles/9000138877-how-can-i-recover-btc-sent-to-bch-bchabc-or-vice-versa-

Early on there was a lot of confusion
because Bitcoin is on the Bitcoin blockchain.
(I think thereā€™s capitalization rules Iā€™m breaking there-
Like I think the Bitcoin blockchain is
the Blockchain but other blockchains are
not capitalizedā€¦ spelling wise anyway.)

Itā€™s Ether on the Ethereum blockchain.
The coin is commonly called Ethereum,
which is incorrect,
but nobody seems to care much,
and we all say ā€œETHā€ anyway, right?
