If you don’t encrypt your wallet someone who has acces to your laptop can spend your bitcoin.

An attacker can copy your file wich consist the password. and later try to crack the password.

    It provides more security. So a hacker could be less successful to steal your funds. If you want to be your own bank, than you need to be in full control of it.

    Than he or she can spend your funds at once based on the rules of the protocol. If he has the key’s to spend, than he is the rightful owner of the UTXO’s to spend.

@R.C do you encrypt your wallet using steganography?? if so, how do you do it? … do you hide your password within a photo?

1: Its important to encryt so that if someone accesses your computer they cannot access the funds in your Meta Wallet.
2:The risk of no password is that funds are on your computer file system, if your computer is stolen and the thieves access your computer then they can spend or transfer all your cryptos , with a metaphrase password they could not do that.

how do you open a door that you don’t know if it exists or you know where it exists? I don’t use wallets the money enters the exchange and leaves in cash there are no secure systems, for me steganography is the best solution and it doesn’t have to be used on an online device

Current modern Software wallets utilize password and or pin protection to encrypt the private keys and render them unreadable.
