DeFi Ecosystem - Discussion

Looks like Kyber (KNC) isn’t in your ecosystem sheet. BIG oversight! KNC is #29 in DeFi market cap and #94 in market cap in the entire cryptoverse.

When I searched for top projects in DEFI for 2021 I noticed Yearn.finance came in at number 2. Looks like a huge project.

That looks really interesting. I’ll be waiting to hear more about it. I’m not only new to defi but also to any finance. Thanks to this course, now I at least have an idea of what the words and the concepts mean. Learning new vocabulary and jargon are an important part of my learning. The concepts are sooo cool. I’m thoroughly enjoying this journey

I think 1inch will be one of the biggest DeFi projects in 2021.

Here the last parts were killers…really good. Have been wondering how the hel… these DeFi systems work in lending/borrowing…

Well, cannot swallow the whole cake at once, but now my brains are catching the train…

Nice.

Reflect Finance or RFI blocks out Uniswap fees and relays 100% of fees to token holders. Im wondering how that works exactly.

I think 1 inch will boom this 2021

please be careful https://www.lendf.me/ redirected me to a spam 2 consecutive times. @gaba @amadeobrands , consider checking and/or removing. Just a notice.

Have a nice one

I use Celsius and have been very happy with them. Curious why they haven’t made the list.

I’ve discovered Zkswap 2nd layer recently! The No gas, fast +ZK Tech could give this layer a lot of uses! An airdrop is happening too next monday btw!

One general thing though, I am not sure to undersand the long term of layer2 options.
The ZK feature seems to generate a use case for this layer even after ETH 2.0 release…

I just looked at Argent. It looks really user friendly and easy to use. Reading their security protocol and the concept of Guardians sounds super useful.
What I don’t get is why the doesn’t seem to be much feedback in the forum. Does anyone else follow the proposed links? Does anyone try them out? I was expecting the forum to be a feedback exchange, not just each single person publishing a single note and there it goes, flying off into space like a kite or a balloon which eventually just disappears or gets lost in the ether space.

Injective Protocol looks promising, currently a low cap but first DEX to offer decentralised derivatives.

Oh and Synthetix is on fire at the moment!

This was super helpful section. Thanks for explaining the difference between true Defi and other applications that come across as Defi but are really Cefi. i.e. crypto.com, or celsius
I personally use celsius and haven’t had any issues. Now I understand the security risk of working with an app that holds my private keys. This is super helpful as I continue to expand my knowledge of the crypto universe.
I really appreciate the excel sheet too. There’s many apps to be considered. It can be very overwhelming at first glance. It helps having them all in one place.
