Love this! I most especially like how it gave me a different perspective on PKI, but how to use this in / as a digital signature.
I like the discussion on Blockchain 2.0 language and how blockchain can be compared to how the human mind operates and connects ideas and responses like marsrvr mentioned. The concept of “if this, then this” is interesting with the difference that in blockchain the emotional aspects are removed in the smart contract cause and effect programming. A DApp is a collection of smart contract codes programmed to do something if/when something else happens . Similar to the way a human responds to something depending on their previous bits of life experiences accumulated up to that specific time.

I joined the academy knowing nothing about this new technology/industry, and what I’m seeing is the beginning of a whole new world. I’m very excited to keep learning. Blockchain technology enables bitcoin (cryptocurrency) to function. The blockchain (global data base) is essentially a public immutable ledger that provides greater transparency, enhanced security, improved traceability, increased efficiency and speed, and lowers costs by eliminating the majority of third parties.

Transparency:
The blockchain is public and everybody can access it and check the data.
Security:
Because of its decentralization and the financial incentive based on mathematical algorithms, it is nearly impossible to alter or hack the blockchain. You’d need access to over 50% of all the nodes/miners.
Improved traceability:
Everything is stored on 1 chain accessible by everyone. You don’t have to trust anyone that the data is correct. You can simply trace it all by yourself.
Increased efficiency and speed:
Blockchain Transactions are possible 24/7 with small fees compared to traditional international money transfers. They are also not available on weekends while the blockchain is always available.
Reduced cost:
Instead of tracking and storing all the data by yourself while relying on third parties, you can simply track it all through the blockchain and reduce intermediaries.
This is a great course. I actually tried to start my learning journey back in 2020 but I had some unfortunate life situations. However, I am now ready and looking forward to becoming a blockchain expert. I believe this academy is one of the best online blockchain learning environments. Onward & upward!
