Benefits of using Blockchain - Discussion

I think the benefits of using blockchain in this day an age is very important especially when lots of fake news and fake people and bots are roaming the internet. Its seems to me blockchain is very transparent way of doing business. Its also high accountability and very good for those who want to take more responsibility for their actions. Amazing technology and its better to have different blochchains to collaborate together rather than using one public blockchain that might issue by central banks. The idea is to run faster then the big black woof secure your house and don,t let it in. Being your own bank is the best idea ever built. With open source and dapps, cheap way to send money around the world why not allow others living everywhere in the world to use this technology especially most people have smart phones nowadays?

Iā€™m confused on inputs always needing to be equal to outputs. So you send however much you want to a person, and then the remaining amount can go back to yourself at a different address (like giving a $20 bill and getting change) Do hardware wallets such as Ledger automatically do this for you? Or is this something you need to calculate/do yourself?

yes it works like a 20 dollar bill. each utxo you own is like a bill. you need to spend bills (utxoā€™s) and you get change back. example you need to pay 30 and you have 2 bills of 20. than you will need to use 2 bills (utxoā€™s) of 20 as input and 10 minus fee as change. wallets do this automatically. but you can do this manually as well

Removing trust & centralisation by verification methods. Incentivising miners in order to keep the ecosystem online and updated 24/7/365

It is decentralized, an independent way to exchange value between individuals !

Insatiable immutable invaluable

The opportunities within the cryptospace are endless. The hardest part is adoption! Marketing blockchain requires the deep understanding of blockchain. Thatā€™s what I am here to doā€¦ is learn the intricacies of various blockchains and their potential application in various industries. I love innovations that improve life, and I believe the cryptospace offers the most opportunity to make a difference!

For me the greatest benefit is the decentralisation of finance.
Decentralisation
immutability
security
transparency
trustless
It puts the control of money in the hands of the people who use it.

Iā€™m not sure how or when crypto may be widely used as currency, however the topic is fascinating and the idea of blockchain (with all the benefits mentioned in many previous posts) being used will be a game changer in many industries.

Most have been already said like transparent, decentralized, freedom, less intermediary, fast but also requires that EACH SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TAKE RESPONSABILITY FOR HIS MONEY in terms of security and attention.
I believe the humankind will grow in a more adult consciousness.

Some benefits of using blockchain:

-Decentralised, not dependent of a 3rd party. No party can take a blockchain down or corrupt data.
-Secure, when a block is confirmed a number of times it is 100% sure
-Transparent, you can see all blocks
-Compatible, build dapps on top of blockchain that uses trusted data from the blockchain

Glad to see so many people shaping the future of this industry and willing to learn more.

In my opinion Bitcoin wasnā€™t designed to be a mean of exchange like a normal currency. Iā€™ve tried to pay this course with Bitcoin and the experience, 11 years later, still awful. Iā€™ve used XRP for that and use it to send money between exchanges because is faster and the fees are way way less.

Neverthless, nowadays iā€™m more and more convinced that Bitcoin will be the reserve of value of the internet, the ā€œdigital goldā€ as most people call it. Ultimately is the gateway for the crypto market, the first mover and the parity for all the other cryptos in this market. Your thoughts about that?

Why XRP? just because itā€™s fast? PayPal and credit cards are fast as well. Do you know where they accept XRP? Donā€™t forget that ripple (the company) premined most XRP. so itā€™s not really decentralized like bitcoin. Ripple dumps XRP to make profit.
But I see, if you are on different exchanges, it makes sense to send XRP, eos, tether or something between those. But on an exchange, you donā€™t really own the keys of your money and itā€™s a different situation.

Hi @Fabrice , I think you miss the point. Iā€™m not saying that XRP is better than Bitcoin, because itā€™s not for sure. But I wanted to make the point that BTC is not and will not be an option when you want to pay small amounts of money. In this case Iā€™ve used XRP because the Academy uses a Bitpay interface to receive crypto payments and have only 3 options to pay, BTC, BCH, and XRP. Since I wanted to keep the things real I wanted to pay my subscription with cryptos, so my first choice was BTC but I regret immediately, first because the block time on that day was taking longer to confirm transactions and the timer of Bitpay almost run out of time and I had to repeat the process, and second the fee was 0.0005BTC that is more than 3$. Nevertheless, the transaction was not confirmed (after more than 10 min) yet so I was able to cancel it on the exchange and I change for XRP. The truth is, I wanted to pay for the academy at that moment and donĀ“t wanted to wait for payment processing and pay the lower fees possibleā€¦XRP was the best option in this case because it was almost instantly processed and the fee was 0.02 XRP (try to convert to USD). In this case, XRP was better, even Iā€™m pro decentralization from the options I had to pay with cryptos and comparing with other centralized payments systems (paypal, credit cardsā€¦). Iā€™m with you on this journey and I seriously believe that Bitcoin is here to stay, but I also think we cannot be blind fundamentalists and itā€™s important to see the big picture always and in which use cases adoption will be made for the different cryptos in this market.
Making my point, BTC-digital gold, ETH-digital contracts, XRP or other-digital payments.
