It is also fixed supply meaning that its inflation rate is contrlled by the algorithm.
These are some characteristics that make it attractive to many over USD.
Sound monetary policy
Holding on to your bitcoin is very important. The short term swings is just noice.
This show that even though people might say it have no monitary value the properties that it has to make it valuable as well as the proof of work that is has show as a new form of currency out weighs the negativie light that others shine onto it.
The world will know soon enough what safe monetary properties Bitcoin offers.

There is great confidence in the future appreciation of bitcoin almost the opposite of the current system.

Therefore the perceptions around it will also be pretty vast and various. People don’t understand it and perceive bitcoin holders as many different things.

Since bitcoin is decentralized and run by code, it cannot be banned or stopped! 
When your money is being printed and devalued faster than the markets can adapt to it, its time to switch to a better standard.

This is from Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
On the one hand, it’s a fun meme to describe how an investment’s price is going to rise so hard that “it’ll blow your face off”. Bitcoin does have that property.
On the other hand, I also like to think of the skeleton as the current international monetary oligarchy trying desperately to cling onto the fence when it’s already gone, it just doesn’t know it yet.
