When I was about 15-16 I was heavily into producing hip-hop musical instrumentals (beats…). Soon I found that utilizing these small pieces of “art” to give to someone who can use it (an artist) to make a song out of it, can “buy” me a lot of respect in the community (with the person really) as well as establishing a valuable relationship.
As a child I trades sweets for sweets. It was a fair trade because the items were the same.
As an adult, I traded my art work for food and I think it was not so fair because the art lasts and the food doesn´t:)

Describe a barter transaction that you’ve been a part either as a child or adult.
List the two items in the barter transaction and, looking back, did you think it was a fair exchange and why?
I used to collect some baseball cards and trade them for other cards, video games too depending of the Nintendo video game. It was a fair exchange. One time i offer a long sleeved hoodie of good quality for some food and a bus ticket to get back home hey it was a Quicksilver yo! not fair.
One of the biggest barter transaction in my life was a car barter. I published in of the internet services that i want to sell my car and after a few days i recived an offer from a man who want’s to exchange his car to mine. I was pretty happy because the model of his car was my favorite and we were agree about the conditions of our barter. Next week he came to my city and we did a barter, it was so easy and fast. After that if i feel that it is possible to make a barter transaction instead of selling and buying something i prefer barter
We used to trade pokemon cards in the playground. One flaw this system had is they were a collection, and I did a very bad trade based on value When I had all the cards but one I changed about 100 cards for the one I needed to finish it. I knew that sole card wasn’t nearly as valuable as all the ones I was giving for it, but once I finished the cardbook the others lacked any value. Now that I think of it they hadn’t value to me but still did for most other kids, I could have traded the other cards for cookies or sandwitches
I am a private maths tutor and my hair stylist asked me to tutor her son. Whenever I needed a hair cut, we would trade my hair cut for her son’s lesson that week. We both felt it was a fair trade as both activities lasted approximately an hour and our hourly rates were similarly priced.
The only “barter transaction” that I can think of ever being a part of would have been as a child trading candy bars or other treats with my siblings or something similar to that, and I feel like they were generally fair exchanges from my recollection.
An example of a barter transaction would be when I was running my tutoring business. I would tell my current clients that if they referred another client to me that did at least two hours of tutoring with me, that my current client would get one free hour of tutoring. This was a barter because I was obtaining free marketing from my current client base, and they were receiving a free hour of tutoring, but there was not any money exchanging hands which is why it was a barter.

The exchange of one audio cassette tape for another. The exchange was fair due to the similar age and popularity of both cassettes.
A few years ago, I bartered / traded a massage therapist for 1.5 hours of massage for 1.5 hours of crypto investment consulting. I think it was a great deal and win-win for both sides. The massage was excellent, and it was easy for me to just share all my knowledge of crypto investing. The massage therapist was very skilled, and knew almost nothing about crypto investing and trading, so was a good deal for them also.
I have a pretty funny story with this. Back in my late teenage years when I was a stoner I wanted some weed and the guy selling it wanted a fish tank. I had a fish tank, but no fish and I was low on cash. So I did a trade with him for a gram of weed. I think it was a fair trade they were roughly the same price and we were both happy
When I was a child in Morocco, I used to collect animal sticker trading cards that came as a treat with some cereal box. My friend also collected these same cards. We agreed to trade them between ourselves. Some cards were more colorful and more intricate in their designs than others. I believe the barter was fair as we both valued the cards highly, to us it didn’t matter which was more intricate or not, they were a treasure when there was so little else we were able to purchase at that age in that location.
I am not sure I ever did any barter transaction as a kid and certainly not as an adult.
We used to trade stickers when I was 6 or 7 years old. When some of us discovered a shop where the most valuable (in our eyes) ones were sold, the whole market collapsed.

As a child I would exchange lunch for chocolate/sweets. Transaction was voluntary and both of us were satisfied and happy with a transaction. There for it was a fair exchange.
As an adult I have exchange car privileges for house repair services. Just like in the previous example both parties were satisfied with th etransaction.
I remember trading some bicycle rims for an old beat-up boombox radio. It was fair to me because I didn’t need the rims and I wanted a radio. The rims were worth more though. I was a kid lol.
hello, when i was a kid i used to exchange pictures with cars from the turbo bubble gum
As a child I remember trading a lot of Pokemon cards and, more times than not, I would feel like I was either getting a really good deal or a less than ideal one.
Looking back I think these exchanges weren’t entirely fair.
Because exchanging non-fungible assets is entirely subjective, these sorts of transactions involve a greater level of compromise (on both sides) than would be necessary when trading for a fungible currency, such as cash (fiat).
Lesson 10: Homework – describe a barter
I remember trading glass marbles for candy which seemed a great trade at the time but once the candy was gone your pocket felt very empty. ;-), so my item of the trade was not very durable.
When I was a super young child, Emmitt Smith was my fantasy football player. My aunt tried to barter a barbie doll to take him as her player. Of course I said no (I had no barbie fomo even as a 6 year old girl) and went on to win the league several times. Shannon Sharp was also mine and we crushed it. Years later, here I am in crypto with a similar feeling regarding the payoff of an invesetment. Excited for this platform and what is to come. xoxo
